I, like many here, have a list of hunting goals that I try to check off as opportunities present themselves throughout a season. With deer season over, for me, I have accomplished three more:
1) a buck while still hunting
2) a deer with a .357 magnum
3) my son got his first (and then second but first was the goal) deer.

Out of curiosity did any of you check hunting goals off of your respective lists this season?

My first goal has 2 phases; I want to compare two different bullets performance. The target phase is not 100%completed but enough to be happy with the results: IMG_2907.jpeg IMG_2904.jpeg
So now it’s trying to get two doe in late antlerless too see the terminal performance of each. Still have the goal to whack a good buck in muzzleloader.

Had fun ✔️

Got meat ✔️

.......yeah thats all i really have.

Ive got this dumb desire (not exactly a goal) of taking every animal i usually hunt with the Hatsan 12ga Bulltac i just got. Its almost hunt ready just gotta sight it in again.
Oh i wanted to get it on camera....so i still need a go pro mount

I might get out for a little late season, I’ve been pushing on my stump grinding project this month. Every time we cut a new trail, the animals use it to move around. It’s pretty neat to steer them where you want them, with an easy path. The stumps we leave behind makes it difficult to maintain undergrowth though and hopefully this is the fix.

Not yet , still waiting on a buck . The season runs out Jan 6th . Doe season starts this coming Saturday and runs until the end of the season . I probably won’t shoot a doe , I have already passed on a fair size 6 pt during muzzleloader season . I called him in with a grunt call , he came running in . I was looking for bigger at the time . After deer season I hope to have a good rabbit season with my beagles and I hope to call in that predator that I have been seeing signs of on my property near my house .

I'm about 3/5 on my goals:
Took a cull 3pt buck with my A-bolt .270
Took a doe with my CVA Optima while still hunting.
Wife got a nice 8pt buck with my X-bolt 300wm.
My youngest daughter wanted the meat from the buck, and middle daughter wants one now, so Istill need to get at least two more, maybe three. Not much time left to get my last buck in TN but plenty of time to get a couple does. Got till second week of Jan to get a buck in KY but it will have to be with a bow, might take doe there as well.
Hoping to get the Tn buck with the 110Tactical 6.5cm, then a couple does with the Henry 45c and my old 94 30-30.
All plans are subject to change though.🙂

Well my goals were to actually go hunting for the first time. I went deer and squirrel hunting, didn't get anything, but went out and tried.

Small game season goes through Feb, so I'll have more opportunities to go squirrel hunting.
Congrats on taking the first step! And best of luck to ya on steps 2,3, and beyond

Doesn't look likely I'll check off any boxes this year.

I'm still looking to take a deer with the Ruger 45 colt.
Given my tag situation this year though I'll probably finish hunting with the crossbow since I can take either buck or doe with it. I'm limited to doe only if I hunt with a firearm.

I set the bar pretty low this year. I had surgery in mid-October and figured my entire deer season would be a bust. I made it into the woods several times and that was my goal. Didn't pull the trigger, but I made it out there. Turkey season starts in March, I'll be ready.

So far for deer seaon was a bust the first in long time we did not get any for the freezer.

My Dad has been sick so we didn not out but two times in the early season where we could not take any buck , and we saw a few .

Looking to bag a yote started two seasons ago , so far no luck .

Was out for yotes twice so far this year and same results, hoping to finally get a shot at one this season .

Sounds like some of you have done well congrats on getting out and thanks for the pics !
