Did you ever re-discover something you forgot you owned?
I was re-organizing my gun room tonight & taking inventory of ammo & reloading components in preparation for the Hildabeast panic. As I was going through 1 of my "safes" (actually a locking cabinet) I came across a rifle I had almost forgotten that I owned. It has been at least 2 years since I used it, but "finding" it was like getting a new toy. I resolved to get her out to play as soon as deer season is over. Almost like Christmas!

Yep just did that, promptly sold the gun since i obviously wasnt using it lol. Ive done that with other stuff as well recently, found a third set of 9mm dies, and a set of .38 dies.

About a year ago I was taking an inventory of my ammo when I came across 150 rds, of Remington .25 ACP. I thought WTH I haven't had anything in that caliber since I sold my Beretta 950 a couple years earlier., Then I remembered that the sale fell through at the last minute. Found the Beretta, in it's original box, on the bottom shelf, in the back of my safe, behind a box of large bore barrel swabs. It's my companion now when I'm walking the dog around the neighborhood.

Now you're glad you didn't up and give that ammo away...like the day before you "refound" the gun!

Same with me; no long lost guns but several knives and some ammo I had forgotten I had.

I was looking through a gun catalog once and thought to myself that I would like to have that rifle. As the days passed I looked through the catalog a few more times and still thought that I would like to have it. One day I realized that I already owned it. It was sitting in the corner of the closet new and unfired. That was several years ago and it's still sitting in the closet...unfired.

I'm ashamed to admit it but I have done this a lot. I was in the right place at the right time a few times in a 2 year stretch and I was able to buy a few estate's worth of guns. I'm talking 20+ long guns at a time. Also, during the early Obama years, I had a habit of buying AR-15 uppers and forgetting that I had done it. I'm still finding some of those. So over the years I have gone through some of my safes and found plenty of things I forgot I had. It's fun to dust them off and play with them for awhile. 4 months ago I found a Colt Lightning rifle I forgot I had. That thing is awesome! I have been playing with that daily since I found it.

We had to move from the 2nd to the 1st floor several years ago and in the process of getting things packed I found several 250 count boxes of both 357 and 44 Nosler jacketed bullets that I had bought at a gun shop in Maine during their annual Septfest sale. Had about a 1/4" of dust on them so who knows how long they were in the closet.
