I've broken decapping pins on Lee sizing dies, and to date two of the reputed 'unbreakable' universal decap die stems.

Dillon service is outstanding because of Mike Dillon and his history of working with 'another' reloading manufacturer previous to Dillon Precision even being a dream.

Do your research Benedict.

You will find Dillon Precision's warranty isn't just bait to get a front loaded profit out of their presses. It is based on Mike Dillon's conviction not to nickel and dime customers to death when it was (is) obvious inferior parts were used in the construction of a press.

The Dillon warranty is the reason every other mfr in the reloading business got their act together (well, almost all of them). I remember very well the days before Hornady and RCBS offered comparable warranty and service.

So, in short, whether you use a Hornady, RCBS or Dillon, you can thank Mike Dillon in part for the great service these companies offer.

If you use a different press than these, that's cool, but Dillon, Hornady and RCBS combined have over 99% of the reloading market.

I have heard of MANY users coming off a Lee product and going to one of the others.

I have NEVER heard of anyone dumping a Dillon and going to a Lee.

I broke a primer slider on the LM. Maybe I am mechanically declined, but I am guessing this is a commonly busted part. It turns out it is indeed under warranty, but you have to send the busted one into them to get your free $2 primer slider. They won't take your word for it. I went ahead and bought 3 to avoid a lengthy turnaround. I guess I will go ahead and mail it in, From now on, they will cost about $.37. Dillon will take you word for it on the small stuff and send out a replacement right away. On the bigger items, like the electric casefeeder, they will ask you to send in the broken one though.

That is just my experience.

Show a bit of control, please.

Let me ask that everyone wishing to get into a "brand vs. brand" discussion read the sticky at the tip of the H&R forum. It concerns "Courtesy and Restraint," and may be found HERE.

If someone wants to start a thread praising Brand X, that's fine. If the same someone asks a question, then okay, try to answer it. Do NOT argue with that original someone. Start your own thread if you like Brand Y or Brand Z better.

Gratitutious argument is NOT ACCEPTABLE, and such posts will be deleted.

For now, however, this thread has run its course, and is now
CLOSED.
