After waiting 1/2 hour on the phone, I talked to a Dillon sales rep today and this is what he told me. They don't know when the surge in sales will get back to normal but they have been flat out making equipment as fast as possible.

I would assume that the sales surge is largely front loading their orders and that when the gun control scare ends, their orders will decline drastically; right?

I don't think it's going to drop off sharply. I think shooters are more determined than ever to stockpile and there are a lot more shooters out there now. It's going to take a good long while until everyone is satisfied.
I expect it to taper off slowly over the next year, year and a half.

I've had a terrible time trying to come up with 9mm dies. Midway is still saying end of June for the hornady dies. I finally ordered a sizing die and a seating die from dillon figuring I ought to just get something on backorder.

Next day gunstop noted that they had a few hornady 9mm die sets come in - so I ordered them.

Next day I got shipping confirmation from both dillon and gunstop.

Try naming something gun related that hasn't had a 500% increase. EVERYTHING is either OOS or 2 or 3 times more expensive than 6 months ago; and the price increase is why it's still in stock. Gun culture basically went batsh*t crazy to buy everything they could get their hands on. Next year at the earliest; might get better.....

Interesting thing is that this is only US related. Europe has had no price peaks whatsoever. We still buy our 50 9mm for 12-15 swiss francs for example.

The situation in the US is not only some weeks old but months I would have thought that by now the import would have picked up and the prices go down. As this is not the case I guess there are a bunch of guys having a very broad grin in their faces.

That's good news for me. Since I sell bullets for reloading, I hope Dillon's orders increase by 5000%. The more reloaders the better.

I don't think it will get to the same level as before Obama until a new, more 2A friendly administration gets into office. Until then, it may subside a bit of there are no more incidents, or legislation, but it won't go back to the way it was before until there is more certainty in the marketplace.

The backorder crisis is all due to obamanation's ridiculous hate of guns.
America is scared to death he'll ban guns & all things shooting related.

I can only hope this eases in the coming weeks.

It won't quit but will taper out. There are a bunch of us that sold off other Dillon equipment during the "panic" in order to upgrade.

I went from an over decade old 650 to a new 1050 and only waited less than a month on the new 1050 and made money on the deal.

$800 AR's on the shelves are making fools out of the people that paid $2500 for the same thing a few months ago but Dillon's at factory pricing will always sell (and far above that when they can't keep them in stock).

I live in NY and here sales of AW are banned. Those people who paid $2500 before the law changed are very happy they did.

We will not be able to buy ammo over the Internet because it will require a background check. If you are selling projectiles and don't live in NY, you won't be selling them to folks living in NY.

The Obama scare is not a scare. Gun control is being fought and lost at the state level. Extremist laws have been passed in NY, CT. Mass, Colorado, California and other states.

This gun scare should show gov't how important gun are to the americans. We gave a good shock to taxes these past months.

Ordered a die set in .45ACP for my Square Deal B three weeks ago and am still waiting. Hopefully they show up sometime in the near future. Hope Dillon (and others in the firearms business) make a ton a money due to our president.

I was over there last Friday and they said they were catching up. No equipment in the show room except some strong mounts and roller handles.
