Anybody had any dealings with any of the Discount Guns stores? They opened one up on Evergreen Way in Everett about a year ago, plus they have a few others around the Seattle area. They are heavy into EBRs & polymer frame handguns which isn't really my thing, but I'm considering buying one (EBR) just in case anything happens after November. I've noticed they often have tables at the Monroe, & possibly the Puyallup, WAC Shows, & they seem to be a family run business.
In your experience, how is their level of knowledge & how do their prices compare? I've been shooting for over thirty years, but am new to the whole EBR thing. I'm thinking of getting a basic AR-15 but am a bit confused with all the different makers & variations. I see them in the stores & at shows, but don't really know what I'm looking at & seem to think I may be comparing apples to oranges. I need a store with people who know what they're talking about without being over the top with tactical stuff.

the prices seemed pretty good on handguns last i looked. don't know about knowledge, I don't have any myself:D folks seemed nice, let me fondle all i wanted.

hey bonza, i've been to the discount guns shop in lake city. i bought a taurus 1911 and a springfield xd40 from them. the taurus 1911 is quite a beauty, but i rely on the springfield for protection. anyways, these guys specialize in tactical guns, and i guess it depends on the person you're talking to, but one guy in lake city doesn't have a clue, while the shop owner knows the ins and the outs.

+1 for the Lake City location of Discount Guns. I've purchased several rifles and handguns from them and couldn't be happier. Only Federal Way Discount Guns (not the same "Discount Guns" chain) beats them in price...but it's also in Federal way. Gas + extra time driving negates any savings for me living in North Seattle.

The Discount Guns store in Lake City has generally good service. Like any other business, if you frequent the place and they remember you, service is generally better. There are a few salesman that are very hip and knowledgable about EBR's and all the .gov regulations surrounding them. Dan and Frank both know their stuff. They also have class-3 items. So, if you want a can, they can help you out.

For the most part, they won't "deal" on price, but I did catch their buyer, Frank in a moment of weakness. I told him I wanted to buy "several" AR lowers and asked if I could get any price break. The salesman on the floor said no-go, but after schmoozing a little more and asking once more, Frank came out of the back room and declared he would discount the lowers $10/each, but I had to buy 10. No problem.
