Do folks still count their shots?

I tend to shoot <10 capacity guns most of the time- revolvers and single-stacks, and do almost subconsciously count shots.

Same here. It became a habit.
I tend to go oooh squirrel. So it gives me subconscious a job to do.
When I run a 12 plus round mag I tend to stop with a couple rounds left because I forget the extras.
