First, let me say I know there is a difference between "want" and "need". I want A LOT, but need very little.

I have at least one of.....
22
22mag
204
243
6.5x55
And so on.....

Do I have a void or need anything below the 243 range? Seems like there is a small void there, but not knowing all the calibers out there, I am not sure.

Don't want to get any more repetitive than what I am, since I know a few of the calibers can "overlap" almost.

I shoot 32 grain in the 204 and anything from 55-100 in the 243.

Must be a bolt gun.

Had a 223 and sold it. It never saw any range or varmint time. And not a 22-250 fan.

So, is there a void somewhere or am I good?

This post is funny, you seem to be a fan of "oddball" calibers, and believe me, it takes one to know one. You haven't given us enough info in this post to know what your favorite tasks are....Even though you said bolt, it seems that the .22 Remington Jet and/or a TC Encore/Contender a good candidates for you. Personally, I am waiting to see who puts out a rifle in .17 WSM besides Savage before I make that plunge. Due to current shortage for .22, et al., I just wish it weren't in rimfire.

22 hornet and 222 has crossed my mind. Don't know much about them. I really do like my 204, but groundhogs do not.:D

Had an HMR once, prefer the WMR.

Most of my shooting is from paper to deer. With groundhog, yotes and other critters in the middle.

410, Why do you say these are oddball calibers? Guess this is why GOD made everyone unique.

go with a bigger bore and go with a surplus type caliber that is cheaper to shoot if you dont load your own

OP's got it covered, but a couple calibers I would think about other than what's already above are:
17 Remington
220 Swift

They aren't "essentials," but more of the different and interesting genre.

As long as your asking, everyone needs a .308, although the 6.5X55 Swede is a great choice.

+1 for a .308 Win. Also perhaps consider a .270 Win. In truth, the .308 Win will do everything the .270 Win will do.

Everyone needs a .22 centerfire.... .22/250, .220 Swift, How about a .222 Remington magnum?

2 out of the 3 sound like a possibility.......but, plans might be on hold for awhile.......picked up another CZ rimfire.......filled my quota for this month.....

It looks to me like you have the small game to varmints to deer range pretty well covered with calibers that you like. I would have to ask: what do you want to shoot that you feel may not be covered with your present collection?

What's confusing, distracting, you is owning the 204 and 6.5 x 55 in the first places. Get rid of the oddball's.

As someone already suggested there's only a void if something you have can't be used for your style of shooting. And from what I see you've got the .2'something sizes pretty neatly covered.

So depending on what you actually USE your rifles for and if something you have isn't making the grade there's really not much to add.

Um.... just what DO you use your present rifles for? And what purpose are you looking at which might require something other than what you have now?

EDIT-
Most of my shooting is from paper to deer. With groundhog, yotes and other critters in the middle.

OK, I just saw this on the second read through. Missed it the first time.

So it seems you're happy with your .204 for the small varmints and it or one of the others would be fine for yotes. And the 243 and 6.5 are great for deer. So again you have to stop and ask yourself how many shots did you have to avoid because your rifles you have were not up to the task? And would one in a chambering in between two that you already have make the difference?

It's only odd if you don't have them. To me, it's normal......

Maybe I do have everything covered and I am just wanting to "buy" something else.....

Varmints, yotes and deer are my main things along with paper. I guess I have all the areas covered for now. Guess I will just keep my eyes open for a good deal on something.......maybe even another "odd ball" caliber........

Well, we certainly won't suggest that this is a bad thing! ! ! ! :D

What about something that is just "different"? Like maybe get a lever rifle? You said that all your present rifles are bolt action. So perhaps it's time to mix it up a little. Or what about a long range single shot like the H&R Buffalo Classic set up with the long distance peep sights and see how things were done back in the day?

After all, range time is supposed to be about FUN unless you're simply there to sight in then go hunting. And sometimes keeping the "FUN" quotient up means mixing things up a little.

... just some food for thought for you to chew on.... :D

BCRider makes a good point. Maybe consider something outside the box. I never thought I would have any use for a single-action revolver until I did just that.

Usually if I have to work as hard at justifying a new caliber as you seem to be right now, then I pass. It's just too much of a stretch. From what I can gather, you have your bases more or less covered.

I traditionally have not been a great fan of .223, but I bought an entry-level Axis in the caliber just to see how I really feel about it. That's what I (and I suspect BCRider) mean about "outside the box". Maybe try something like that. Otherwise, more ammo/accessories. That's my $0.02. Good luck.
