Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

I took my FEG apart and can't get the slide back on the frame- driving me nuts b/c I have no problem w/ my real BHP doing the same thing.

Of course, the FEG cost me 1/3 of what the Browning did and I'm basically happy with it.

Well since this got brought back up I still like them. Here are two of mine, both in .40. I currently have another .40, and Inglis and a Competition model.

Thanks guys! I got lucky.

tekarra, that is the original Belgian frame, customized by one of the most notable Hi Power 'smiths that ever was. He's most remembered for the mini HP's he built, but as you can see, he could make a pretty piece when he wanted to.

He was an amazing 1911 'smith, and built some fine S&W revolvers too.

Here's a sample of his checkering (looks much better in person than in my poor photo), and a rear sight he designed.

HP Club!! I want to apply!! I may not have all the credentials needed though! I'm new to HP's and this site. I knew zero about HP's a month ago. I picked up these 2 from an elderly gent who is liquidating his collection. Both of these shoot amazing! I think I got them both for "fire sale" prices. Can't believe I would ever say it..but the HP is my favorite!

Mine is a belgium marked ,factory adustable sight with pachmayrs from back in the day. I have the original wood grips in the old pachmayr box. I think the pistol dates to 1975 or 1978 with a C in the number. Its a keeper.

Mine must be from around the same time frame Joe..It has the "C" in the serial # also. Has the adjustable rear sights as well. I have never been able to group rounds as well as I can with this pistol. Brilliant engineering!!

These pistols, at least with the 1980s pachmayrs installed, have some of the smallest grips (butt) ever as far as concealment in the IWB holster. Maybe it just looks short to me. The only reason I dont carry it is the steel frame...its one smooth pistol in every other regard.

joe_security, there is an option. AIM Surplus imported some Belgian Police alloy frame Hi Powers a couple of years ago. They pop up on GB every now and then. Cylinder & Slide had some for sale, but they weren't cheap.

Fully loaded (14 rounds), they weigh the same as an unloaded all steel HP.

Wanted to share my gun show find. Was looking to get out of my polymer handgun for a classy, steel 9mm for the range. Some history wouldn't hurt either. I was hoping for a hi-power clone, maybe a ratty cz or a s&w 39 that would fit my budget. Near the last table I found this old guy and fell in love with the patina and the fact that it was a genuine Belgium. The greenish/brown color in the pictures is pretty close to what it looks like in person.

Obviously it's not the best of condition but it has a good barrel and no rust, but it's also missing it's original grips and mag disconnect safety, so I hope I didn't pay too much at $550. I knew that Belgiums and new production usually went for more, and that the FEG's and FMs were in the $400-$500s, but I didn't know that internal extractors $80 if you can find them. Luckily mine shot great yesterday, but I'm not sure this is going to be the range gun I was hoping for if spare parts are so scarce. This is the first time the gun industry has let me down, I mean how can noone be making these? Maybe just an excuse to get another hipower?

Guns with history are fun too. It's one of the Argentinian contract guns before they started making the licensed copies. From what I have ben able to find, many of them got refinished yet this appears original if not worn. To my untrained eye the locking lugs and cam track still seem sharp. Any other info you experts can give me? Any new info on extractor sources?

Mine is hard chrome with custom hammer and grips. Mag safety removed. One pistol I have never had any kind of jam with. Made in Belgium assembled in Portugal. Early 90's. You have to have a Hi-power and a 1911 if you are a gun guy.

Saw one at a pawn shop this week. Has A13 stamped on the slide. Not sure if it's a FM or what but alot like sawdeanz P-35. I think Rosario is stamped on the slide and it's slide is cut like a Browning.

$350...

Tempt me if I didn't already have a MK III sleeping in the safe.

Guess my two cents matters, i have a Belgian E series (early fifties) an Englis and original Belgian army issue in the 1700 serial range that some how survived WWII in remarkable condition. Love shooting all three.
