Do You Carry Concealed into your Church?

According to Louisiana law, you cannot carry a concealed weapon into church unless:

1) Pastor has granted permission
2) an additional 8 hour training course is taken and passed

I am considering a discussion with my priest to begin the process

The question is, how'd he get it, did he buy it when he has a felony charge against him? Or, because he's a criminal (and potential felon prior to this egregious act) did he break the law and obtain the gun illegally?

Never mind, I just read the article. He bought the gun so apparently, his drug possession charges had no affect in stopping the purchase.
bearingarms pointed out that if he did buy the gun, then assuming the gun store did the background check, he must have passed... which means that more than 60 days after his arrest he did not show up in the database as a prohibited person. It would be beyond tragic if the reason he was able to acquire the means to carry out this massacre was bureaucratic technical ineptitude.

Much better to be mortified than be dead. And if you carry the right piece, in the right location, like a small Smith or Ruger snubby ,you will never be noticed. Like this 16 oz, 2" barrel.38/.357 S&W.

In VA you have to have permission to carry into a place of worship during services. Luckily, my Pastor is my shootin buddy. I told him I was gonna start carrying, he said OK, but 1 favor... Keep it concealed well so nobody else knew. I said Fair enough.
No sir, you do not need prior permission in VA, at least in everything I have seen. Reference the AG's letter at the bottom of this posting. He takes great pains to state that the 2-A is about self-defense and personal protection while at the same time, the church has the right to ban carry within their premises as any private landowner may do.

In response to the OP's question, yes I do, every Sunday.

Only if Roof purchased the gun from a licensed dealer. South Carolina doesn't require a background check for private sales.

It's a bear. I use Speer Gold Dot HP 38 Special+P 135 gr. or Hornaday 38 Special JHP/XTR 125 gr which is a lot easier if you are recoil sensitive. I am not, but .357 loads are very limited in my practice sessions, none the less! ;)
