I don't, personally.
There are valid reasons not fire your guns:
-they may not be in safe condition to fire
-you cannot locate ammunition
-they have serious historical value which would be damaged or degraded by firing
The last category is in reference to something like a wheel-lock pistol or revolutionary war-era musket, not so much a collectable 1911 or S&W revolver.
It's the same with cars. Lots of people collect cars and spend lots of money restoring them, only to let them sit in a garage. It can be a lucrative business as well...these people, like many gun collectors, tend to hold a view that these specimens are works of art. I see no reason why art can't be functional
