Do you own guns you have NEVER fired?

I don't, personally.

There are valid reasons not fire your guns:

-they may not be in safe condition to fire
-you cannot locate ammunition
-they have serious historical value which would be damaged or degraded by firing

The last category is in reference to something like a wheel-lock pistol or revolutionary war-era musket, not so much a collectable 1911 or S&W revolver.

It's the same with cars. Lots of people collect cars and spend lots of money restoring them, only to let them sit in a garage. It can be a lucrative business as well...these people, like many gun collectors, tend to hold a view that these specimens are works of art. I see no reason why art can't be functional :)

A couple of antiques, one is a shotgun I have never found ammo for and if I did have ammo still not sure I would shoot it. It's an 8 gauge side by side with damascus barrels.

A bunch of them, including collector pieces (Remington and J. Reid). I've also got an unfired P5C, an unfired P5, and an unfired P88C, all of which are NIB and will remain that way for as long as I own them. I've also got a P5 that I shoot regularly, a P88C that I also shoot regularly, and I'm looking for a P5C that I can shoot regularly -- just haven't found one yet. :)

I have quite a few that I have never shot. Some I just have not gotten around to shooting yet and others will never be shot. Hurt the value (maybe)... :)

Funny. Does it count if you have some that is 15 years old that were never opened? I don't care much for the stuff and bought it for company. Now I seldom offer any alcoholic bev's other than a beer when visitors are around.

Several recently acquired guns have yet to be shot. Some are because of no scope to mount, several are because I CANNOT FIND ANY AMMO.
Once people stop hoarding and playing into the anti's hands by making ammo scarce and expensive, all of my guns will be shot.

Guns that are too valuable as collector's pieces to be shot belong in a museum. That way everyone can look at them and enjoy their beauty.

A bit off topic, and someone will flame me for saying this, but...

If you buy a gun today and don't shoot it with the intent of selling it at an obscene profit later, you should have your gun-owner's decoder ring taken away. Its not a worthwhile investment if you are doing it to screw your fellow gunowners.

Buy all you want, just shoot it.

I have a few that are old from through the family that I have never shot, all the other guns I have, I have shot, guns are for shooting I always figured

Yes, but that's because they are guns that I don't want to shoot. Well actually I do, but I know what harm, to their value, it would do.

For instance one that I, nor my father , have ever shot is a 1939 Luger. Buried by the Nazi's, in it's original container (from the factory) during their retreat. My dad bought it for $25, sight unseen (even though he offered $50 for it after he saw it). The guy he bought it from fired one magazine from it. His brother pulled it out of the box in the ground, shipped it to his brother, and was killed before he got home. Mint comdition (99-100%), all numbers matching (even the mag), and no signs of ever being fired. I'm craving a Luger that is a shooter, but I won't make this one one.

Other than that, I have a few that I need to work on, and a couple other collectibles. But every shooter grade gun I own, I shoot. One month old or 130 years old, I shoot most of them.

I have one I have never shot and one I have only shot twice.
1st- A double barreled 660 Nitro Express by H&H no real ammo around and the other gun kicked so hard I don't really have an urge to give it a shot. Plus I here it could be worth 15 thousand was left to me by a great Uncle.
2nd- A double barreled 500 N.E., that one hurt like hell when I shot it and one box of 10 rounds cost me 200$ so I got 8 shots left don't know if I'll try again this one was left to me by my grandfather.
All the rest of my modest collection I have shot.

Nope. Haven't bought a new gun in about 5 years. Sure would buy at least 1 or 2 if I had the $$ though.
