I still have the 10/22 my father got me when I was 14 or so. It hasn't been to the range in several years, though. I'm not happy with its accuracy, and it would cost too much to accurize it. I don't feel like spending $250 on a $200 gun just to make it accurate, particularly when a Savage can be had for that price.

Still have the 10/22 my dad gave to me for Christmas when I was 14. Original configuration with the same Simmons 4x32 scope on it. I estimate I've put close to 3,000 rounds through it and killed maybe 400 jack rabbits 
I always promised myself no matter what I would never get rid of it. Hope to pass it on one of these days.

I still have my Marlin 60 that my step-dad bought me in 1988 when I was 12. It's the 17+1, LSBHO model. I have run about 2000 rounds through it in the past year...

Yep. I have the first gun I ever shot (50 years ago - Dad gave that Stevens .22 to me about four years back), The first gun I ever owned (a Christmas gift Marlin Golden 39A Mountie from 43 years ago), and the first gun I ever bought (a Remington Model 6 Improved, bought 2nd hand 42 years back). Won't ever get rid of any of them.

first i bought was a Marlin 60 from a buddy when i was 18 and living in arizona, it now has a nice 3-9X40 scope and is the first gun i grab when i go out.
first given was a H&R Topper 20gauge by my grandfather. it had some paint on the stock and a little beat up so i refinished the stock and it looks nice once again.

Nope. An HK USP Compact. I bought it because if ads and reviews. The gun doesn't fit my hand. Also don't like DA/SA. Now have a lot of 1911's, Glock, AR, Shotgun
Still have my first- a Savage 755A 12 ga. (got it when I was five. Funny story. Funnier now than it was then anyway )

my first gun i owned was a Marlin 336 in .35 Rem, the 2nd was a Stevens model 62 .22lr semi- auto rifle - i still have it.

Unfortunately, no.
S&W 469, this particular one just wouldn't shoot particularly well. Sold it, helped to fund my first shotgun (a 20", 7+1 Maverick 88) and my CZ PCR.
My first rifle (a Henry .22 lever) paid off almost all the rest of that CZ.
Wish I had them, but... The trades work out better for me. I do intend to replace them in the future.

Unfortunately no, my first gun was a Remington Model 514 single shot bolt-action 22LR. that was a birthday present when I turned 12. Unfortunately it was stolen when my dad's collection was taken.
To make it up to me, my dad gave me on 14th birthday a Savage Model 24J DL in 20ga/22mag to replace it. I had for several years hunted with the gun but between the weight (dang thing was a boat anchor) and the selector switch on the hammer continually breaking at the pivot point. I sold it for a another (Rem. 870 in 20ga) which I have since sold as well. It wasn't until I lost my dad a few years back that I understood it's true value and wish I had never sold that gun. :banghead:

Sure do. Bought for me by my father as a 13th birthday gift. New England Pardner 20 gauge.
It's killed rabbit, deer, dove, squirrel and many a clay bird. Very accurate with rifled slugs.
Never forget the day I got it. Took it and 100 rounds out with a box of clay birds. I learned what High-brass meant that day.
He also gave me a 10/22, a Winchester 120 12 gauge and a Winchester 94. The latter was probably the most memorable. We passed in the hallway one day, and he handed it to me and said "Here. Do something with this."

Yes. It was a ratty, inaccurate (but reliable) AMT Hardballer. Ended up using a few parts off of it for other guns (grip screws and bushings, sear pin, hammer pin, MSH pin - you know, the "oops i dropped it in the carpet" parts).
Keeping the frame and trigger, I gave the other parts I could find away for the price of shipping - the guy had a longslide that he wanted to shorten. Then, with a few new parts and some take-offs, I rebuilt the frame into a dedicated host for a .22 conversion.

Yep. My first firearm was a Savage/Springfield M15 bolt-action SS .22 LR. No serial number, cocking handle on the back of the bolt, a miminalist for sure. The amazing thing was that I got if for Christmas ~ 1966. AFAIK, that was the first firearm anyone in my patri-lineage had EVER owned. I don't ever even recall a 1st cousin owning one, until long after I got my first.
