Does Dick's Sporting Goods sell guns?

I bought my Mossberg 930 SPX at Dicks and they also had a sale on 9mm ammo for a decent price at the time so I bought a few boxes. I will occasionally check on ammo prices from now on.

Dick's acquired the Galyan's chain a couple of years ago. Prior to acquisition by Dick's, Galyan's carried a nice variety of quality handguns. The re-branded stores no longer carry handguns. According to one of the Galyan's now Dick's employees, the managment of Dick's does not want to be in the handgun business.

Yes they do. I've gotten a pair of screaming deals on guns from them. Their ammo is quite overpriced, but they'll sometimes run sales where you can get out with stuff on the cheap.

Their staff are hit or miss. Some guys know what theyre talking about, some don't. The biggest downside to buying guns from them is that because they're a big retailer and not a gun shop, they have to go through a convoluted internal process involving store manager and whatnot that takes lots of time, whereas dedicated firearm shops can get you in and out much quicker as they have the infrastructure in place.

As already mentioned they generally have like 5-10 in a few models all out on the racks which I found humorous enough to act like i didn't know one row was all the same and asked to see each one lol. I'm bad I know, but I don't think the guy behind the counter even caught on. They seem to have an ok price on a couple, but don't go in expecting a gun shop type selection or experience.

They bought out the Galyans that used to be in Fairfax, VA. Galyans sold everything, including handguns. When they changed to Dick's, they got rid of the handguns, and replaced most of the gun supplies (which included holsters, magazines, etc.) with a bunch of airsoft and paintball crap.

They do have good prices on ammo during their sales, and they do sell some "evil" long guns, including a desert camo mossberg with extended mag tube.

Here in New York State the don't sell handguns. As has been mentioned, they do carry the Remington AR:

The ammo prices suck, yes, but if you play the coupons and the rebates game well, you can get some decent deals on shotgun shells. Cheaper then Wal-Mart, even! Last month I got three cases of Remington Gun Clubs at $4.00 a box that way. Beats $8.49, which is their new per-box price.

While Dicks selection is limited they have very good prices and sales. Currently they have the Remington 870 on sale for $240. If you are looking for the top selling models from Remington, Mossberg, Savage, Marlin, etc. they are hard to beat price wise.

As all have mentioned the sell sporting rifle and shotguns. Ammo is out of line price wise unless it is on sale. If you dont get the paper go to thier website and look at the weekly ads for your area. It may save you a trip, it frequently does for me.
