Fun polll and interesting comments.
I have owned all on the list, except for the CZ. All were great guns, but were sold for various reasons. It really is a matter of personal feeling, I think.
Loved the SIG 226 for its reliability, accuracy and mechanics. Really liked the controls and thought they were intelliigently and perfectly laid out. Fun to shoot. Without question, a great combat gun. Like the trigger quite a bit...though some had a long take up...which I did not like. But....it felt like a brick in my hands and after shooting a 1911, I could no longer favor the fat grip.
Always loved the design of the Beretta 92. Elegant and seemingly efficient. I think they are well built and very well thought out. But....sold it because the fat grip and thin nose never lent themselves to accuracy for me. Further, I could just never master the trigger. Tried the Stoeger Cougar...what a terrific design....shot very well...but I could never enjoy the trigger.
Shot both the SIG and Beretta very well...but both made me feel as if I could do better.
Have a Glock 19 and favor it. Hated the Glock trigger at first, but after concentrating on its geometry and how it worked, adjusted my finger on it and got great results. It can be a tack driver for me....and i still do not know why. It just works. I also like it because it feels like one of my all time fav's...the SIG P225 (which I had a chance to shoot...but for some dumb reason passed up on buying...ug). I like the lightness of the frame and find I can take it anywhere. Great size, feel and weight. Trigger just seems to work.
The BHP.....do not have one, but have a 1911 framed 9mm. LOVE that. Hands down my all around fav. Perfect grip and trigger. Perfect width. For target shooting, like the extra weight. As a mechanical device....love how it is put together, machined, designed and thought of. True genius, that cannot be duplicated. A true classic that has yet to be surpassed.
So....as for the poll....well.... I love my 1911 framed 9mm (as I would a BHP). I will always have it and always shoot it. It is #1 for the collection and shooting.
But...cannot be without my Glock 19. It is my go anywhere, completely dependable, 15 round, best defense weapon.
Would like to have a SIG P225 in my collection (for the right price)....if I could have a collection. Or a P226 or P228. But they are not priorities.
