Strictly for fun.

Reading the "do you wear gun-related apparel?" thread I got to thinking about all the different manufacturer logos and actually, some I wouldn't mind having on a shirt even if I don't necessarily own any of their guns. FN Herstal comes to mind; very neat logo. As for guns I own, I am quite partial to Beretta's logo. And I know they are an extremely old company. Anybody know what the logo symbolizes?

So if you have a favorite logo, even if you aren't fond of their guns, chime in! Also if you know any fun facts about any, please share!

(I tried to limit to larger manufacturers but if there are smaller custom shops or AR builders with sweet logos, tell me your favorite)

Springfields crossed cannons, Remingtons scrolled R is nice (in fact that's my hat), rugers dragon (or whatever), and of course Browning are my favorites.

You can't hardly beat the Colt Prancing Pony!!

Nothing like it on a gun known round the world for 150+ years, before or since.

ruger. love their guns and the eagle (or is it a phoenix?) is pretty sweet too!

Nighthawk Custom..... And yes, I'm fond of their guns as well

I voted Ruger, I do like the pheonix. But I have actually thought about getting the Archangel logo tattooed so thats probably my favorite.

Colt's. Gotta love the "prancing pony." But then, I'm a Colt guy (AR-15s and 1911s). I do, however, also favor S&W's wonderful logo and their revolvers are my favorites ... Springfield Armory has worthy 1911s displaying a neat symbol, and I even kinda like Kimber's script rollmarks on my Kimber 1911s...

Beretta by a long shot. The arrows and 500 years in business just screams cool

I have several Beretta target shotguns and the 500 year old gun maker is a favorite of mine. Have always liked the logo myself but had'nt given it a thought on what in meant. After 3 minutes of searching I came up with this on the Trident logo Beretta adopted........

Ahh the joys of reading into Beretta history; First off the logo was created by legendary poet and writer Gabriele d'Annunzio, who was a friend of the Beretta family and had a villa in the town of "Gardone Riviera", by Lake Garda, close to Brescia. The three arrows (Trident) was dubbed "Dar in brocca", which meant, loosely, "to hit the target". Each of the arrows represents the three shots fired by a ship approached by a potential enemy. The first shot (left arrow) is fired in front of the ship. The second (right arrow) behind it. If the ship does not respond, a third shot is fired, with the sole intention of hitting and sinking the ship, therefore "hitting the target".

Ruger all the way. I am a huge Ruger fan and love their logo. I love my Glocks as well but it is a boring logo. FN does have a nice looking logo as well, now only if their FiveSeven wasn't $1200...

Hard to believe that you forgot Remington, the company that developed the QWERTY keyboard that you probably used to type this. This was actually before they merged with Rand Kardex to form Remington Rand. They're now owned by Rayovac, which has changed its name (Rayovac, not Remington) to Spectrum Brands. Rayovac was a cooler name. Anyway, not exactly a breathtaking logo, but it has some interesting history behind it.

Definitely it would have to be the Colt Prancing Pony. Second would be Sturm Ruger followed by S&W.

@ dubbleA

Cool, thanks for the info on the Beretta logo, that is interesting. Yeah, I probably could have taken a few minutes and just researched myself but I was too occupied with thinking of different companies :) It really is awesome how long they have existed.

I actually had them on my first list, but when I started to exceed 20 options, Remington didn't make the cut :uhoh: because like you said, it isn't really breathtaking. Just kind of a nice font. It is simple and elegant though.

I don't know if it is my favorite, but I like the Larue state of Texas outline logo. I like the STI Texas outline as well. Guess I'm a bit biased.

i love the kimber lettering very elagant. So is the lettering on my Remington 1911. Nighthawk logo bad##. Beretta's trident awsome so is the PB Beretta logo on my 950 grips. I like my Desert Eagle logo to. And the Panther on my DPMS. Taurus's bull is o.k.
