Beretta 96 Centurion. Made in Italy. "Gina"
Shown with its full-size sister "Sally", Made in America.
Hogue grip on both.
Mec-Gar sight on Sally; Trijicon on Gina. ( rumor has it that Trijicon will re-lamp if there's still a 'glimmer' in the old sights, so I may be contacting them soon ).
Mec-Gar 15-rd. magazine for both.

I'm going to add another one. I didn't have this one back when I first posted, but had one back a few years ago that I had to sell. I really liked that gun and figured I'd never see another one since S&W only made a relative few (less than 3,000). Then last week one turned up at my LGS.

I had to sell a couple of more mundane guns to swing it, but here it is.

Model 24-3, 44 Special, with a 4" barrel. Alas, it doesn't have the original stocks, but I like the Pachmayr Presentations enough that I might just leave them on it, especially considering what a set of period correct N-frame stocks cost.

I haven't shot this one (apparently the previous owner didn't very often either), but liked the one I had previously so much, I'm sure I'll like this one. You would think a 4" Model 29 would be the same thing, but a 29 has a thicker, heavier barrel, and feels totally different to me. Sort of like the difference between a Model 15 and a Model 19.

My favorite revolver would be my near mint Dan Wesson 715, one of the first ones made.
Favorite semi auto was one of my Tanfoglio "Mossad" 9mm guns, the full sized one in satin nickel, with the one in my avatar being a close second, but I think it's going to be my new to me SIG 220 DAK police trade in pistol. If it shoots like it feels dry firing, I think a 9mm SIG 226 DAK is going to be something I'll be looking at really hard in the near future.

Hard decision, but by a small margin one of my 2 1/2" round butt K frames would be my choice. As these are small enough to carry, feel like a real gun in my hand, and are not un- pleasant to shoot with hot 38 special round or mid-range .357 Magnum ammo.

Too many great ones to pick a favorite.

Most rounds down range: Ruger Mk2 5.5 bull barrel. It was also my first pistol.
Gun I'd grab for defense/competition/zombies: FEG PJK9HP 9mm hi-power clone.
Sentimental choice: 1919 vintage Colt Government Model.
Most valuable: 1939 Mauser made 42 code Luger (though next on list is currently skyrocketing in value)
BBQ gun: Colt Magnum Carry
Hunting sidearm/big boomer: Ruger Vaquero 7.5 inch glossy stainless, buffalo horn grips, 44 magnum.

I'm a big fan of the Makarov, but I think my current favorite is probably my Ruger sp101. Its fun to shoot plus it has some personal history behind it.

My favorite handgun is the one I have in my hand at the time. I do need to practice with each one to be accurate and precise with each one in case of emergency, but they all have their place in my heart.

I will say, however, that if things went very pear shaped, my SIG Sauer P226 TACOPS would be my preferred go to. It is accurate on its own, has large capacity (20+1), night sights, and has heft to manage recoil and keep it on target.

That's a great answer.

My favorite firearm to shoot and carry is my fnh fns9. Although it is me most recent purchase I don't foresee ever getting sick of shooting it!

That would be my FA 454.
I have guns that cost more, guns that are prettier, and guns that are more fun to shoot. But this was a gift from my wife. That makes it my favorite
She also gave me a STI Trojan in 9mm. But the FA was first.

One summer night, in 1993, I used a 4" stainless steel Ruger GP100, to fire a Federal Hi-Shok 125-grain .357 Magnum JHC, in what Mas Ayoob would term "the gravest extreme." I think this one is an easy choice for favorite handgun. I would not sell it for ten thousand dollars. For a frame of reference, I have some beautiful Colt and USFA single-action sixguns with beautiful case-colored frames, and a couple of Les Baer 1911 pistols, and a pair of nicely-smoothed SP101 revolvers tuned by Jack Weigand, but that factory-stock GP100 is THE favorite.

Gen III Glock 20 10mm Auto

Ugly as sin but not intended to be a sex symbol. The Glock and the 10mm Auto both seem to appeal to people who value function before form and putting them together in the G20 offers about as much performance as you can fit in something of its size and weight. Has same basic footprint of Commander-sized 1911 with less weight and several orders of magnitude more firepower. Stoked with 15+1 200 gr XTP JHPs or FMJFP @ 1250 fps, it has about as much energy, bore diameter, and bullet mass per oz as anything on the market. If any handgun can give me a fighting chance to get to a rifle, this is it. Love it.

Years ago, I passed on a Weigand SP101 at a local gun show. All these years later, I'm still pissed at myself.

Fantastic firearm. When we travel, I take mine. Had to buy a couple 10 round mags, for when we move through states governed by clowns.

Make it a G40 MOS and I would be more amenable to such a pistol, but if not, I shall stick with my SIG P226 TACOPS for precision threat stopping potency.
