Dumb favorite pistols!

I have a friend with an IJ super-shot sealed 8 I've been trying to get him to sell for years. Those are neat and very well made old revolvers.

I just had to look that one up because I'd not heard of it before. Other than the "sealed" cylinder, it looks like a near-exact clone of my H&R 999 from the '30s. If it's made to anything like the same standards, I'd question including it in this list, because I don't think there's anything dumb about it. Mine's a sweet little shooter, and you can't go wrong with a .22 revolver for kids and new shooters...

bond arms derringers. only two shots. single action. built like brick outhouses. love them in about any flavor caliber. surprisingly soft with rubber grips.

naa mini 22lr revolver. single action rimfire. solid. goes anywhere.

You guys with your C9 Hi-Points reminded me that I have one, too. Took it off the hands of a buddy a couple of years back for $70; he apparently felt the same way about it and wanted the money to buy some sort of higher-end rum. I actually enjoyed shooting it the one time I got it out, but I do forget pretty often that I have it. It's pretty far back in the safe somewhere.

Last year I bought a goofy Taurus. 357 magnum in.....polymer. It has quickly become one of my favorite revolvers for plinking around.

We put 450 rounds of 158gr over 6.0gr of Autocomp 357's through over Christmas vacation in 10 deg temps. Ran like a champ. Full house rounds are friggen brutal through it though.

The workmanship of the IJ revolvers of that make is fantastic. It looks strange, but it works like a Swiss watch and is very accurate.

As far As less practical favorites I have a 38/200 Enfield revolver that was my grand fathers. I only have maybe 4 bullets for it. I need to find more.
BlkHrt, yours will take .38 S&W (not 38 special). That's actually the brass it's chambered for. The factory 146 gr. bullet will print low, however. But keep the empties, you can reload those with proper 200 gr. lead pills from Matt's Bullets. (You probably will want the Mk. II.)

My Colt Mark IV, gussied up in it's IPSC role, back before most knew or realized comps weren't all that efficient for .45 ACP, and accordingly went for .38 Super. It was a self-customized job with Wilson trigger and ejector, Pachmayr sight, and Centaur Systems Quadracomp and bushingless bull barrel. It will likely ALWAYS be my favorite gun. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten the package in 10mm for the Delta beside it. DSC_0584.JPG

Two. Second model Colt sport Woodsman and a blue, scoped Tracker 17 hmr. Both shoot way better than I can hold.

Everyone should have a pointless firearm. For me I have a Ruger 22 Charger. The Charger is an exceptionally pointless firearm, but it is fun to shoot. Contrary to what all the mall ninjas think, not every gun has to have a "purpose". I have quite a few "just to have" guns.

I agree everyone should have a just for fun handgun,But my charger with the factory stock and sights was no fun.Made a Mares Leg style stock and added a nice red dot.
The 44mag Ranch Hand was hard to shoot and the sights would not work.I added a recoil pad that I made out of Leather and hard foam and changed the rear sight to a very old full buckhorn sight.
Now both are very easy to hold aim and hit what you want with. Both were bought as just for fun and the stuff to make them shooters was stuff from my junk box.I keep them in my van they are small easy to lock up out of sight.I look for any excuse to shoot them “just for fun”.Best part there both Handguns so they can be loaded in a vehicle unlike rifles. Picture a coyote entering the treeline while you still loading, then you have to unload to get back in.Makes them even more fun. IMG_1038.JPG IMG_1037.JPG

I carry an LCP .380. Might not be the smartest gun. I have quite a collection to choose from, but it's perfect for me.

Beretta 950 'cause it is comical to me.
Beretta 70 'cause it is smooooooth to shoot.
Bersa Thunder Plus 'cause 15 rounds of .380 with a fat grip is just great, and the kids love to shoot it too.
