Gun show this weekend and I have $500 to spend but need some ideas on a new/used revolver or semi (pretty much open to anything but Glocks and Hi-Points:evil: ). So what are you favorites in the <$500 range?

Here is a list of what I already have.

Semi's

Ruger MKII
Firestorm .22
Kel-Tec P32
Walther PP .32
Makarov
TT33
Cz52
Sistema 1911
Kimber Pro Tac II SE
Taurus Mil Pro PT145
SIG 220
Ruger P95 9mm
Beretta PX4 9mm

Revolvers

Nagant
Taurus 627 SS
Ruger SP101
Ruger Vaq .44mag
Ruger SRH .480
S&W 640
S&W M10 HB

I'm always on the lookout for good deals on Makarovs. Bought one at the last show.

The most interesting, fun pistol that I've bought in a long time is the Kel Tec PLR-16 .223 pistol, $430.:)

You're missing a Hi-Power in that collection. Clearly, that's what you should be hunting at the gun show.

You might be able to find a sig p239 since you only have one sig in your collection so far.

It's a great compact if you are a ccw holder.

Springfield XD series can all be had for at or under $500 new. I think I paid $490 for my stainless 4in .40.

I can also second buying another SIG. They are great guns as well.

rock island armory 1911 :what: very impressive for under $400!

SA GI 1911 :D work horse to no end mid $400

SA XD 9mm/.40 1911-like grip ergonomics and great shooter mid $300-hi $400

(can you tell I am partial to 1911's, eh?)

I got a hipoint c9-9mm for sale with 5 mags (4 hi-caps) for under $200  you want it?

Smith and Wesson Model 27 or 28 .357 magnum
Smith and Wesson Model 29 .44 magnum
Glock, any flavor
Colt Huntsman .22 semi auto.
There are some to look for.

SIGs, Glocks, CZ's, 1911's...Browning Buck Mark's and Ruger MK series...Ruger and S&W revolvers...off the top of my head...

Semi's I would go with an XD. I think these guns are outstanding for the money.

Revolver I would look at the Ruger GP100. This is by far my favorite wheel gun.

Any pre-lock Smith in primo shape! You'll always find a use for it no matter the chambering or barrel length. Buy a bunch of ammo for it. You'll always find a use for it......Essex

Some others to think about:

Used:
Walther P1 -- West German milsurp P38 with alloy frame and parkerized slide/barrel, generally under $300 and a great gun. Late models have nice sights, too. Aftermarket magazines available.
Star B -- Now that I got one that works right, it's great. Cost me $200. 9mm loose copy of 1911, with simpler mechanism and no grip safety. Tackdriver, and looks really pretty with some grip panels I bought rough and finished.
Makarov -- Tackdrivers, compact, simple, cheap. Oddball ammo, but pretty easy to find now, though not too cheap.

New:
CZ75 etc.
Uberti Cattleman SAA -- add Wolff Springs for $20 or so and it's a GREAT gun

+1 for the S&W Model 27 I gave $450 for mine and it is as fine a weapon as one can own. Regards, Richard :D
