NRA-ILA has a neat "write your representatives" page that lets you spit out letters. I'm mentioning this because I hope you guys are writing your senators (many of whom are up for reelection) and telling them that they need to support their constituents' gun rights by supporting the senate version of HR5092.

Here is my letter, feel free to borrow from it or write your own:
HR 5092 recently passed the House with wide support from both parties. It addresses many of the problems and inefficiencies that have come to light since the last major ATF reform bill in 1986.

Most prominently, this bill provides a more finely graded set of punishments for dealers who make clerical mistakes all the way up to those that willfully commit serious violations. Instead of having one harsh punishment for all problems, the new bill will provide for more careful matching of crime to punishment.

The bill also addresses some due process concerns by having appeals heard by an administrative law judge instead of a second ATF agent. It also halts punishment until after the appeal has been affirmed by the judge.

Lastly, it codifies the license revocation procedure to prevent misunderstandings and wasted court time.

This is an excellent bill that will indirectly help to safeguard the gun rights of all Americans by increasing the efficiency and fairness of gun industry regulation. Diane Feinstine has vowed to block the Senate version of this bill, so we will need 60 Senators to get it rolling towards the president's desk. I hope I can count on you to demonstrate your support for America's gun owners by supporting this bill.

Yeah, she's mine too.

I think we both face the same dilemma, but Feinstein is the one who usually spearheads the anti-gun BS. Y'know, the infamous finger-on-the-trigger eeevil AK picture.

reincarnated as a simple country boy in the next.

Naw too good, I want her reincarnated as a turban in a cave.

She and Boxer are my Senators. The future looks bleak as far as replacements. Probably Jerry Brown.

I'll write to them anyway. Its election year, they might just sit it out and not scream so much.

Jerry Brown

Was he the Mayor of Oakland ? I hope CA can get better polticians. I may not be there, but Federal Laws are Federal Laws regardless of where the authors are from.

Sorry guys that you have to be subjected to her. I feel dirty that I voted for her back in the day before I got my head out of my a**.

You shouldn't feel sorry they have to be subjected to her. You should feel sorry she represents them, but in reality, with her in the US Senate, we all have to be subjected to her.

called Cornyn and Hutchinson(TX)

Asked both about getting this to the floor,

they said only Frist can do that.:scrutiny:

Just called Frist's office,

his staff said they would relay my comments to him:banghead:

how is it that a dimwit can stall legislation when the reptiles supposedly run the senate?

who is running the senate difi? dimwits?

I tried to call Frist's office but noone answered the phone.

We all-gun owners- need to bug him.

He can bring this bill up or get it attached to a must passed appropriations bill (ala the internet gambling bill. I want this thing passed and no I don't care how. Just as long as DiFi cannot amend it)

Okay got through and gave them the message.

Hope I am not the only one.

Question re: Senate-Holes...

Given that:

My Senate-Holes are Teddy "The Hero Of Chappaquiddick" Kennedy and John "I Served in Viet Nam" Kerry.

The question is:

Would anything I write, telegraph, telephone, or e-mail make the least difference to these elitist, controlling, better-than-the-taxpaying-class-I-rule so-called "representatives"?

Write Feinstein and Boxer both. Tell em how you feel
about their views. I just did. I wrote a polite "yer flat
wrong" e-letter and sent it. If they don't know they
have opposition to their shenanigans, those two
"people" will continue to try and pull stunts like this
thinking they have the FULL support of Californians..

Tomorrow I'm on the phone to Sen.Frist.

EVERYONE on this board should be on the phone to Frist.

He can pull some strings to bring this bill up I think.

Anyway I called and his office listened.

Yeah, I write Fienstien and Boxer frequently. I usually feed them some bull on agreeing with them on some issues but refuse to vote for them if they won't compromise on guns. Haven't heard back from them ever. Maybe if we flood their mailbox they'll be to busy to take our guns.
