Would be Interested to know how many Females belong to the Gun sites, and are interested about Guns like the Men are? I think its Great that they are involved, 2nd amendment is for everyone, woman should be encourged to Carry for there own Protection.

Not on boards per se... but during the recent NRA Women on Target clinic that was held in my area, 12 of the 20 female shooters were friends/acquaintances of mine. And I didn't even have to bug them about it, I just told them and they all signed up.

Almost all of them want to shoot some more, and two want me to walk them through the process of buying their own. I'm taking 8 of them to the range in a couple of weeks to try out some EBRs and shotguns and sniper rifles.

Not bad for California eh?

Yeah we're here. We may not be just like the men in their liking of guns. I know for me they are a fun hobby I share with my husband. Also being able to carry and protect my self are the biggest attractions to guns for me.

I get at least one or two woman in every CCW class I teach.

I also instruct when my range does "Ladies Night" every couple months. Those are always well intended.

There are also some very good female shooters active at my local range. One took "High Woman" honors for Bullseye at Camp Perry this year.

I love guns. They fulfill multiple purposes in my life. Enjoyment. Protection. Stress relief.

I used to frequent gun boards regularly, but had quite the unpalatable experience on another one (some of which I take responsibility for). Now I only visit "reputable" ones and post every now and then.

I wish more women were involved. I'd love to hear the media whine about the gun-owning WOMEN.

This month's SWAT mag has an article about an all-chick class at Thunder Ranch.

I mean "woman", broads hate it when you call them "chicks". :D

We (CCA) encourage female shooters and even devote a day to them with our "Ladies Night" on our range. Every Tuesday (from open to close) ladies shoot for free and if they bring a male with them then the male shoots for half price. It's a huge night for us and many of the ladies even sign up for their own annual memberships.

Of course there is always some 'macho' guy who drags his wife in, who has no interest in shooting, just so he can save a buck. We discourage this practice.

Carebear, methinks you might want to start hollowing out a cave to hibernate in. Pick one high in the hills where the snow will cover your tracks and keep ya safe until spring.

Crystal ball says you’re about to get a visit from Pax, Barbara, or Tamara real soon! :D

Apologies for the thread drift wizmar

I'm the biggest gun lover in my family.(as far as the females goes) I know another woman who loves them as much as I do. Now my mother,sister-in-law carry as well as one of my employees and 4 friends. I have not ever met an anti-gun female THAT I KNOW OF. I know of some wishy-washey guys though. They think rifles are O:K but hey do not speak of owning a handgun. I just say sorry but I will speak of it espically if asked. (Coarse I'm am advertizement for firearm ownership when driving around in my truck, Most colorful bumperstickers in the Physicians parking lot at the hospital) :p

Got an old girlfriend coming back to town. Good Southern girl. Native Tennessean (accent, knows every tree, kilt b'ar, that sort of thing) She has a Sig 229 and goes to the range weekly.

Not sure where and if things will go but she'll be the first gun-packin' dame I've ever known personally.

(Dame's better than broad, right?)

Wizmar, lots of us.

Carebear, if I were to start "humorously" posting about spics, chinks, *******, heinies, and krauts -- would anyone laugh? :scrutiny:

Greg L,

I thought that she had transcended all that & had become one of the guys :neener:

I appreciate the intent of the compliment, but maybe if the guys hit the gun books a little harder and study up, they can transcend all that and become one of the Mes.

:p back atcha. :D

I always accessorize with .45acp and .357mag - just the bare minimum. An aquaintence of mine in the Sheriff's Office says there are over 400 women with CCW permits in this part of the county alone!

Few around here shoot with men, fewer do more than occasionally lurk on the various firearms forums.

Trisha's right.
I'm usually a lurker. That's because a lot of sites have established writers & can be really hard on newbies. You're either ignored when you do finally get the nerve to post, or you're flamed & humiliated back into limbo. Having been stalked, I'm also wary of how much info I put out there. Trying to come out of my shell, though. So "hi" to all the other females here & thanks Wizmar for bringing up this topic.
I'm interested in firearms & I firmly believe in RKBA. This is my favorite site.

I must be a chauvinist pig because I found carebear's post humorous. I found pax's response to it offensive though. At least I'm not a chauvinistic racist.

Lighten up folks, would you? I might be wrong but I don't think carebear's post was meant to offend. If however it did offend, is the proper response to become more offensive?

Any women here have trouble

At gun stores? Do the salespeople treat you right. Have you ever been ignored ?

*raises hand*
I enjoy shooting. I am a bit pickier than my husband though. No ugly guns for me. And although I have tried out many different kinds, I prefer to stick to what I like. Loyalty- I don't like to cheat on my 1911 and in trap shooting, I stick with my Beretta 12 gauge. I guess women are more faithful to the ones we love. :neener: Hehe, just kidding guys.
My main focus is getting things done on the political side of things so I can actually carry to protect my kids.
