Everything I've heard about that ammo is that the Greeks like to load a bit hotter than we do here. :D

Not that it's unsafe, totally Garand friendly. The muzzle blast is just slightly more impressive. ;)

I have a case of it in my safe. :D

Very nice Doc. I bought one years ago, it sits in the safe and the LR-308 gets out more but that's only because I tend to enjoy shooting stuff that is more accurate.

This year I am going to try and shoot more of my military stuff including the 03-A3's.

Nice find there Doc. Now you have to find a John C. Garand match and have some fun. The JCG matches are a real hoot.

When the rifle was rebuilt they did mix and match parts.

I have a CMP M-1 in simular condidtion....I placed in the middle 170's out of 1300 shooters shooting the National John C. Garand match last year with mine.

so they only mixed parts on the REBUILD? and never on the original build?

During production, by and large, there was no mixing of parts. Soldiers may have mixed them though and it was widespread during the various overhaul programs.
