Besides going to a Walmart directly, anyway to find the prices of firearms at Walmart?

Firearm shopping online at Walmart does not exist.
I am wondering if there is a non official Walmart website.

I am in the market for a 22LR rifle like ruger 10/22

just try sporting goods at your local wally and see what happens.

Yeah, just swing by there the next time you're in the store.
If they don't have one in the case they have a book under the counter you can look through.

Expect to spend about $230-$250 on a new wood and blue 10/22. And they're worth it. Great guns.

I think he's asking if he can check online. I know it's hard to believe but a lot of people don't want to go to the store or call them up to check prices - hence the rise of online shopping ;).

Unfortunately, I can't help you there. They do list muzzleloader prices online but I don't see anywhere that would list the regular guns.

Here in the South, the guns come from the Ellett Bros. distributorship. They have the catalog under the counter and you can browse for something not in inventory and they will special order it for you

Well if you're wanting to shop at Wally World, that isn't an option.
He'll have to go to a store at some point, whether to buy it at Wally World or to do an FFL transfer if he buys online.

Ok thanks. I don't live near a Walmart so that is why I ask. Wouldn't be worth it just to drive there to order 1 firearm and drive back another day to pick it up. I will just pay the extra and get in shipped from online.

Any time Iv checked there prices haven't been that great or even good compared a few lgs and the big sporting goods shops as for pricing it's one of the few things that will change from Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart so they don't post it online

no I meant to find their store online and check their sporting goods section and see if you can find the prices. if you like.........
but in a lot of ways why spend the time to save x amount
of dollars if you are putting wear and tear on the auto.
gas, tires, brakes, insurance, somebody might hit you, you may hit someone.
I weigh all these thoughts in a decision.

The stainless/synthetic 10/22 is currently $257 at my local Walmart. Can't tell you what a blued one would be because I've only seen the stainless one in stock for several years.

As far as the rifle is concerned, the Ruger has went up in price to reflect its popularity as a platform that has many aftermarket parts.

If you plan on running it stock, and just want a good 22lr autoloader, the Marlin 795 is everything the 10/22 is. Just nearly $100 cheaper.

Don't get me wrong, I had a 10/22 with a match bull barrel, Volquartsen trigger, and a good Choate stock that would hit golf balls at 100 yards 9 out of 10 times. I only removed these when I got a Rem700 .223 to play with instead. I put tech-sights on the Ruger with stock barrel and it is still fun to shoot.

But stock vs stock with iron sights, the Marlin is a hair more accurate.

I'll second that. I don't own a 795 but I've got it's tub-fed cousin the Marlin Model 60 and a 10/22 and the Marlin is a better rifle in many ways. Scope mounting is better on Ruger, and the aftermarket accessories are more numerous, but the Marlin is more accurate, has better ergonomics, and has been more reliable for me.

Anyways - to the OP - it sounds like you may be better off buying online. Buds and Grabagun.com both have good prices. Grabagun was a bit slow to ship but as long as you're not in a hurry they work out well.

I would just check Bud's and see if any dealers in your area are already in their system as accepting dealers. If so, buying a new 10/22 is few clicks away.

I'd just skip the 10/22 unless you plan on putting a lot of cash into it. The stainless/synthetic 10/22 was my first rifle.
After learning about CZs, that Ruger made about 50 rounds through it before it was pushed to the back of the safe where it has sit since.
It was a impulse buy because most everybody said buy a 10/22 for your first .22 rifle. Had I done my research I would have spent a little more and got the CZ.
Better accuracy, holds value more(actually increased in all mine), looks better, made better...there is nothing the 10/22 has over them.
If you plan on passing it down and/or keeping it for a while, I don't see any 10/22 fitting that unless you pour money into it.
If it's just for plinking and going to be thrown around where quality and accuracy really doesn't matter then...
Yeah, I don't like that Ruger.

The OP asked about buying a 10/22 and some guys sidetracked. ..I might as well, too...A 10/22 was my first new .22 about 25 years ago. I thought it was the cat's meow until I shot an accurate rifle with a good trigger. With that said, I have several shooter CZ ' S and one dust collector 10/22.

Sidetracking? I call it informing. We all know it's true. :D
Since we are on the subject of dust and the 10/22 aftermarket is so vast, do they make a 10/22 stock accessory that converts
the 10/22 into a broom? It might as well get some use since it isn't going to be shot any time soon. :p

Oh, someone will come along and defend the 10/22 and tell us what a tack driver his is...Of course, he has likely changed everything but the butt plate and is using a tack with a head as big as a quarter.:D

LOL, I should of known this was going to happen if I mention 10/22. To be honest I am not dead set on the 10/22 for many of the reasons mentioned above. Accuracy out of the box is important and I really am not planning to mod out the 22LR. I actually though about the marlin 60 and other variants(75c).

I also like the Savage bolt 22LR

The Savage was my second .22 rifle and it's accuracy is only outdone by the CZs. I still shoot the Savage though, unlike the Ruger. It's a Mk II TR-SR and with a can on, it's a hoot.
For just a smidgen more though the CZ455 tacticool threaded can be had in the same configuration but better accuracy. The CZ also outclasses the Savage though in it's build quality.
If a suppressor is in your future, I would go with either the Savage or CZ with factory threaded barrels. I wish I had somebody tell me the same from the start.
It's nice to save a hundred bucks here and there but with firearms it seems better to buy what you want from the start and not settle as it'll just cost you more in the end to get where you need to be.
Truthfully if I had the cz455 from the start, I can't imagine wanting much more from any .22 rifle. 16" threaded barrel that is super accurate and super quiet with the suppressor and
it looks awesome also which is a plus. The only place to go up from there is a Anschutz which is double if not triple the price of the CZ and even that's not a guarantee to shoot better than the CZ
until you get real high dollar. If the barrel threading and Boyds tacticool/pro varmint stock aren't important then any of those the Savage Mk IIs are excellent deals. The CZ seems to always outshoot the Savage though.
I would just forget Walmart, get a CZ, and live happily ever after.

These are some of the best places for the lower prices where I've bought all my CZs at.

You can order from WalMart online and pick it up at your local store when it comes in. Stainless/plastic 10/22 on sale for $199 in June 2014 here in S.W Florida. $10 fee on background check, not the $25 LGS charge. There's a reason they are the #1 retailer in the US. Just don't ask their clerks for any technical information.

they dont charge for background fees.

and you cant actually order it online. if you check the website clsoely, youll see "this product is in stores only" just like ammunition.
