I think I posted this in the wrong sector before.

What should I get for the next handgun?

The options that cross my mind are: Kimber 1911, USP, GLOCK, or a Five seveN. Anyone own one or more of these handguns? Any imput would be greatly appreciated. Especialy about the 5.7 x 28mm round.

If we got a conventional handgun round I would like to stay away from the 9mm. Either .40 S&W, or .45 ACP.

Price aint so much of an issue because I see guns as an investment peice. If you buy it then go broke, you can always sell it for around puchase price. (Mabey even a little bit more).

On the heading I meant next, not first sorry Used to own a PT-99AF

Can't really go wrong with any of those.

Glock 38- .45GAP and Glock 23- .40s&w Compact glocks sure are nice. A little shorter than a 1911 but a tad fatter. Probally my favorite carry now. Eats anything. Deosn't rust.

Kimber TLE 5"- I love this gun. Likes oil and needs the discoloring wiped off the outside of the barrel every once in a while. Even in stainless if you even think rust.......it will. Soon as I get more rounds through her I send her out for a Melonite refinish. She needed a stiffer 18lb recoil spring and Wilson 47d magazines for complete reliability. Allways something with 1911's. Likes Goldensaber 230 the best.

FN 57- don't own one, have shot one. I own a PS90 rifle in this caliber though. Lots of controversy on this round. Jury is still out. Easy to shoot really light weight. 5.7x28mm makes more sense in the rifle, to me anyway. I'd get one, but I need another Glock and 1911 first.:p There are other ammo providers other than FN now. Got a feral pig with the PS90, so ignore the .22magnum crowd, it works.

USP- Seems kinda plain to me. Deosn't really stand out except its reliable. Don't own one of these, just borrowed one at the range. Isn't there a compact USP now? Still the Glocks and 1911 have their advantges, the USP struck me as the same as alot of much cheaper weapons. I actually liked shooting the XD .45 better.:scrutiny: Its bigger than my 1911, so I'd rather just carry that.

wow where to start...what are you looking for ccw...range fun...hunting back up?

I got a glocks...19, 23, 20, 38

I have a 57 and a kimber not to mention several others it all depends on what your looking for and why...

Beware the metal 1911 crowd will weigh in...

I want a fun, reliable gun, that would put down someone at a good range. More than anything I just want people's opinons and testomonies more than anything else. I like the XD's but right before buying one a buddy got one. I dont want to be the copy cat.

Well in you want to have fun and grab peoples attention the 57 is the way to go great shooter out of the box. I love mine and would carry for SD it's just a bit to large. I'm getting 50 rounds from midway for about $23 for a box of 50 for the 40 grain rounds. Everyone that shoots this gun loves it. It's not the 2 legged stopper like a 45 but if you can hit with it 20 rounds into the target well stop most anything... I also have a 30 round clip...It's a great gun that I'm afraid the OBAMA boy's will be going after because of the past hype..

If you are looking for accuracy in 45acp you should check out the Trojan 6.0 longslide from STI. Hand fitted, silky smooth, exceptonal trigger, and wickedly accurate. This little company in Texas makes some really outstanding 1911s. My STI Eagle 6.0 is easily the most accurate pistol I've ever owned.
