I guess I failed to clarify something. Everyone I talked to in person said buy a glock. I came here to see what other options I would end up with.

If we were comparing the Glock 21 to the M&P 45, then let’s just stop here and declare the M&P .45 the winner and move on. Superior ergonomics by far, good accuracy, and availability of thumb safety to help transition 1911 shooters make the M&P 45 the clear winner in my opinion. Add a viable and reliable factory 14 round magazine, and you pretty much have the whole package wrapped up with a bow.

I own the Walther PPQ, M&P 2.0, and the compact Ruger American. Hands down the one I would pick would be the Walther. All 3 are fine guns but the trigger system on the PPQ is the best I have ever had out of the box.

-100% Subjective
-Glock 21 not accurate?
-One less thing, not 1 more thing to do when pumped full of adrenaline..plus 1 for the Glock...
-one round..Glock is 13R 'factory' magazine

well, the M&P IS more expensive...

Glocks don't play well with cast reloads. Why buy a gun then turn around and buy a barrel just to be able to shoot them?

Has anyone had any experience with the Kahr CW 45?
I am doing the same search as the poster & Kahr has a good reputation for quality as far as I know & the price for the CW 45 is $355 new.
Would it be able to cycle 45 ACP LSWC target loads?
If anyone here has one or knows about them any information would be appreciated.

OP here,
I'll be keeping my eye on this one. My dad has a 40 cal Kahr and it shoots pretty good. I forgot all about their lineup until this. :)

In 45acp, I have a CZ 97B, an M&P 45 with safety, and a Sig P220. Out of the three excellent guns, my favorite is the CZ. Great shooter, but it’s not a polymer frame. The M&P 45 is an excellent choice, and after market triggers can improve an already good trigger.

I guess I can't make my suggestion cause you may have heard it before... Oh well, GLOCK but not a 21. G30 is probably one of the best 45 acp guns ever, get a conventionally rifled barrel if you want to shoot bare lead, if you haven't shot one it's an eye opening experience and feels the same as a 21 but it's shorter and is more accurate in my hands. Take that for what it's worth.

I'm pretty sure the G21 is more expensive than either the M&P45 1.0 or 2.0 models, as long as you're comparing the same retailers and not special sale price models.

For instance retail for M&P45 2.0 is $599 https://www.galleryofguns.com/genie/Default.aspx?item=11523&zipcode=32506

Glock Gen 4 G21 retail is $655 https://www.galleryofguns.com/genie/Default.aspx?item=UG2150203&zipcode=32506
Perhaps but the ONLY true measure is the company's MSRP..

I find MSRP on the M&P is $599, Glock 21 is $549..small potatoes..granted. Both good guns, IMHO.

MSRP is meaningless. What matters is always the retail pricing. M&P's are usually less expensive than Glocks. When I bought my M&P I was wanting a Glock. Then I realized I could get a different product that would do the same thing as the Glock for about $200 less new. I bought a new M&P for what a used Glock would have cost. Now prices are insane due to the upcoming election & the corona virus/race riot insanity but I would be surprised if this has changed.

Of COURSE what matters is actual pricing but any level playing field comparison HAS to start with some small 'c' constant..and that is MSRP or MAP..

I bought a NEW Glock 17 GEN4 for $350..NEW..but that is meaningless 'in the wild'.

If ya bought an M&P for $200 less than a Glock..the Glock was overpriced...or the M&P underpriced..

I don't impulse buy. I usually take my time, research & watch. It is a 40 which makes it less desirable to many but in all honesty 2 days after I ordered my pistol I got an E-mail from CDNN advertising the same gun with night sights for $50 less than I paid. I believe Glocks are good guns. I also believe M&P's are good guns.

I ordered it from Bud's for $350 which is pretty much 'in the wild'. I suspect you got a discount or a buddy deal to get that price on a Glock.
