FN FS2000 - an interesting test of it's ability to eject

Like iamkris, I find the FS2000 to be very clumsy and unappealing. And it's not the fact that it's a bullpup either. It's the blocky shape and poorly defined fore end (especially in terms of a repeatable hand hold) that get me the most. I have held and fired the PS90, and find it quite nice. I have a Steyr AUG, and I like it very much.

I also agree that ergonomics is best defined personally...

And I also agree that the FN FAL feels wonderful in the hands. It feels the best of all the battle rifles to me.

Thanks for the great pictures and info on the FS2000...

What was the little hatch you opened at the end of firing your string, located at the rear of the rifle and under where your face would be when firing the rifle? Where is the charging handle located on one of these rifles?

It's a spring loaded hatch that when flipped up allows the operator to inspect the chamber area of the rifle. It gives you roughly the same view as looking into the chamber of a M16 with the bolt locked to the rear.

The charging handle is along the left side of the receiver, much like a FN FAL.
