I was told by moderators at the fiveseven forum that this modification is not possible (with the PS 90). I am not a gunsmith, but from what they said it doesn't have dual sears.
I haven't warmed up to the carbine yet, but I'm starting to like the 5.7 round itself. Before I get one, I'd like to see some other ammo companies making rounds for it--as well as reloading dies & recipies.
And what I'd REALLY like to see is an 4-6" L-frame 7-shot revolver in 5.7x28 that uses moon clips (like Taurus' Raging Hornet/Raging 30--but smaller). With the ballistics of a .22Hornet, it would make a great small-game woodsman's packin' pistol....
I am highly doubtful that the ATF would let something like that through. If you can supply me with proof of the dual sear, I will go buy one now in expectation of the eventual grandfathering.
A semiauto P90 isnt worth getting, but a 900 rpm one definitely is IMO.
Well, I agree that the 5.8X43 ammunition is a killer round and I would LOVE a fricken QBZ-95! But, I don't think the Chinese are allowed to import any ammunition (much less firearms) that have military uses. I think its part of some sort of lame Clinton ban on Chinese weapons and ammo. Too bad though, we buy everything else from China (shoes, clothing, gadgets, and soon even Cars http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2006-01-11-china-cars-usat_x.htm) so why not guns and ammo??? They make good stuff and for cheap! If you want to hurt China, ban Wal-Mart!
In a way, you are comparing apples to oranges. Chinese 5.8 x 42 is designed to be fired out of a rifle. 5.7 x 28 is much smaller and is designed to be used in a PDW.
