I had a friend tell me a story that I felt might be timely to relaying on to others given the current crop of new model of mouse guns available.
Seems my friend had a Kahr .380 lose in the pocket of his baggy safari pants pocket. It is so small and comfortable, he picks it up with his car keys in the morning and into a pocket it goes (has a CCW permit). He told me it is really hard, if in a hurry to remember to leave it in his car in certain forbidden places.
On this occasion, he had to meet with the bank manager in her office to sign some papers and redo a checking account. When it came time to get an older check card out of his wallet, there was a big OPPS moment. Told her blah-blah, had to go to his car to get his check card. In the rush to get out of the bank with said .380, he left his car keys on the bank managers desk. Here he was, gun in pocket, with no car keys in the parking lot of the bank. He wasn't about to go back in the bank with the gun in his pocket. Also was a big concern of a camera possible mounted outside somewhere. Another problem was that he parked right in front of the door.
Stood there dumb struck, trying to figure out what the heck to do. Finally did a "is that a nail sticking in my right rear tire" look? Bending over and felt the tire up and down while slyly depositing the gun on top of the tire. Went back inside, got his keys, and went back out, checking that tire really well again, and put said .380 under the rear floor mat.
Seems he got away with it but scared the be-Jesus out of him.
