A friend of mine is looking for a wooden type front pistol grip for his Romanian WSAR AK-47. Any idea where to buy one? Also, how easy/difficult is it to install? Neither him or me have ever done any work on AK-47s.
Installation is not all that hard. You completely field strip the rifle, then there is a little lever to loosen the front handguard clamp, and then the wood comes right off. The new wood should drop right in.
I personally don't like them, as they get in the way of mag changes a little, and they are positioned very far forward and raked to clear the magazine. But if your friend does like them, they are not expensive.
You may also be able to find them at gunshows, or you could post a want-to-buy in the for sale forum here on THR.
