Glock 21 regular or SF?

I recently rented the regular frame Glock 21 at my local range and shot really well with it and really enjoyed it. So now I MUST have one. However, the grip did feel a bit bulky to me, especially the "hump" at the bottom, which is the reason I believe it points high for me. Now, I also had the opportunity to handle the Glock 21SF since they had one for sale. I found the grip to be really comfortable . However, I was not able to shoot the SF since they only had the regular frame Glock 21 for rent.

So, I am torn between the regular frame and short frame Glock 21. Honestly, I shot so well with the regular frame that I wouldn't want to mess that up. From my experience, just because a gun is comfortable doesn't mean you will shoot it well and vice-versa. For example, the HK P30 is very comfortable to me, but I shoot the Beretta 92fs much more accurately even though I don't find the grip very comfortable.

Do you guys think that since I shoot the regular frame well, I should just stick with that, even though I really do find the short frame much more comfortable? Is it conceivable that I might not shoot the SF as well? Do those of you that have shot both the regular frame and SF/Gen 4 find that you improve with the SF or Gen 4 grips?

Go with what you know you shoot well. If your instincts tell you the expectation is you'll continue to shoot well with the non SF then get it. You apparently have doubts about the SF so why even worry about it?

I own both regular and SF and the fact is the difference is a non problem for me.

So you shoot the SF and non-SF equally well?

I have owned a pre-SF model for years. I don't have any issues with the larger frame, but if the SF had been available I'd have bought it. In a nutshell, some people find the regular grip too large. I've never heard anyone complain that the SF was too small. I don't know why they continue to offer the regular grip size.

I have owned both. Currently own an SF. They shoot much the same. The grip difference has always felt negligible to me. But that may just be me. I suggest go with what feels better in your hand.

Gen 4.

Without backstraps, the grip is the same as a Gen 3 SF. With the +2 backstrap, it's the same as the regular Gen 3 grip.

I just got an idea--I could buy a G21SF and a used Gen 3 G20 with the regular frame.

I was planning to buy a complete Glock 20 upper anyways so that I could shoot 10mm. However, it seems that I could get a nice, used Gen 3 G20 for about a hundred bucks more than it what it would cost for just the slide.

Now the big question is: are G20 and G21 slides completely interchangeable with G20/21 regular and SF frames?

If so, I can experiment and keep the frame I like better and sell the other frame for $150 or so.

I have a G20 and G20 SF, prefer the feel of the SF, but both shoot the same for me.

When the time came to get a double stack poly 45, I ended up buying an XD Tactical and I couldn't be happier. If Springfield made XDs in 10mm, I'd sell both Glocks.

Yes, the 20 and 21 slides are interchangeable. Doesn't matter if one is SF and the other isn't. SF is just 2mm shaved off the back of the grip. No other differences.

Just don't get one Gen 3 and one Gen 4, because they don't mix.

If you even think about carrying at some point, get the 30sf. You can still use G21 mags with it. And yes, I had a 21sf.
