Glock customer service

I've seen a bunch of Glock frames from 1st Gen to the latest style but I've never seen that kind of polymer-metal-polymer style rails before.

It's a used LE trade in with no way of knowing how it was treated by the previous users. I knew an LE who would field strip his G17 and boot stomp the frame to show off how tough it was.:what: Glock will probably replace the frame at a discounted price but with a different serial number that will have to be transfered through a FFL like a previous poster said.

Probably due to repated HOT, HOT +P+ police loads--look at the pic--

The ejector front aligns pretty darned close to the crack. The force and torque of the ejection is born in that area.

From everything that I have heard of Glock, they will replace the frame free. I would be surprised if you end up paying anything more than for shipping it to them.

Keep us posted, please.

Probably just an anomaly; G17's are designed to shoot NATO spec ammo by the zillions.

Glock called me on Friday and said that they will replace the frame for free. He didn't say what caused the faliure and I didn't ask. It will be the new style with finger groves and light rail and will have a different serial number. I should get it back in 2-3 weeks and the only cost to me has been the shipping it to them.

For what it is worth, the gun was a police trade in 1st generation model used by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office dateing back to 1989 so I have no idea the life it went through before I purchased it. I've owned it for about 5 years but really don't shoot it much since it is the wifes nightstand gun.

I recieved my G17 back from Glock yesterday. Not only did they replace the frame, they also installed new sights (the old front sight was worn from holster use), touched up the slide finish, replaced some of the internals of the slide, and gave me an extra magazine (only 10 rounder, but hey, it was free).

So as far as I am concerned, Glock has excellent customer service.

Another Happy Customer

I sent my G36 in to Glock along with four magazines. They replaced a few worn parts and rebuilt all four mags.

All warranty work.

Only complaint: it took 6 weeks. But I'm still a happy man and count it as a job excellently done.

Cheers,
ChickenHawk

They will probably send you a new frame. The serial number will be the same with a "1-" in front of it.
