After installing my new spring from glock on my glock21gen4 the shells
land to the right all together. No more hitting me in the head or face. The
recoil spring was the answer. Yesterday i was using Winchester 230gr fmj
factory ammo and the pistol fired perfect.

While it may sound like an obvious solution, bear in mind that hot brass ejecting into your face can be extremely distracting and I've seen more than one instance of it causing unsafe gunhandling. Once every now and then isn't a huge issue, but every 3-4 rounds, 20% of the mag, is more than mildly distracting

Let's face it -- Some guns have BTF issues. Glock isn't alone in this.

One day I decided that I didn't want a MIM extractor (Glock factory made), so I 'upgraded' to the Apex extractor. It's a spendy upgrade, but a GREAT upgrade. Those Apex extractors are wonderful.

As a halfway, and inexpensive, measure, you might throw in a stronger extractor spring. I've heard of that helping some folks with BTF issues.

I could not agree more. While I was doing my obligatory range duty a few months ago. A guy was shooting his new G19. It threw a piece of brass to his head. He sweeped pretty much everyone on the line with his finger on the trigger. After an unpleasant conversation with the range safety officer about safe gun handling he decided to leave.

On the other hand. Several months ago we had a female shooter end up with a brass case down her shirt. It was pretty obvious she was getting burned by the dance she was doing. Her gun handling was perfect. The muzzle stayed downrange the whole time she was doing her dance. She had a very pleasant conversation with said RSO. As I recall, she bought a T shirt to keep from having to get burned again.

OK the opinion part. If you are having brass to face issues that make you or your gun unsafe I think you need to address them. For me, I load 115 grain loads a little on the hot side and it keeps the BTF down to a minimum. I also wear glasses and a ball cap. Not just for my brass, but because there is brass pretty much flying all over range. Not to mention the occasional flying jacket coming back over the line. Others may need to do more. I just can't buy into the idea that getting hit with a piece of brass cause unsafe gun handling. A sometimes painful distraction yes, cause no. I don't mean to be a jerk, sometimes I just cant help myself.

I currently have a Glock model 27 ultracompact in 40 S & W and have no problems. Good luck with yours.

Lock the slide open and let it sit that way for a couple days then retest. may fix your issue without any other action or it may not...

That's my advice and I'm sticking to it..

I once had a Glock 17 RTF 9mm. Happened probably 10-12 times per 50. It seemed to happen more often at the same point in a given magazine - as the bullets get pushed up in the mag with the gun firing.

A local smith messed with it for me - got it down to 2-3x per 50. I should have left it there - I brought it back to him... He adjusted something in the gun again... It increased to 5-6x per 50.

What is really strange is that if I shot in the isosceles stance - NO problem. All the cases went to the exact same spot. Shoot in the weaver or modified weaver, and I had the problem. I really got sick of it.

When I had my g3 G21 I put about a thousand rounds through it, never had that issue. All the BTF were always a bounc off the stall wall. lol

I have a g3 G17 now. Have put at least 3K rounds through it. Never had this issue, and I feed all kinds of ammo through it. Even Wolf, Blazer, Brown Bear, etc. All sorts of weights too. whatever I can get cheap.

I'd like to point out that all guns are capable of throwing the odd casing up at the shooter on occasion...that is just the nature of the beast.

The issue we are discussing is specific to the late Gen 3 and Gen 4 9mm Glocks with the compromised grip of their extractors and angle of their ejectors

Polished extractor----no change
Replaced extractor--- no change
New plunger spring--- no change
New extractor at GSSF match---no change

30274 ejector----- BIG CHANGE!!!! But not 100%
Spring Loaded Bearing--- replaced the LCI with a NON-LCI one----- Now 100 % for several thousand rds. and almost all brass 4 ft. right rear

Let me be sure about this.
You are using a Spring Loaded Bearing for a non loaded chamber indicator extractor with a loaded chamber indicator extractor? (say that three times fast) It looks like that would give you more grip on your extractor. I had not heard of this fix yet.

YEP!!!! Cured my ejection problems with my 19.

I have a 26 that ejects to my face but only on the last rd. with nothing in the magazine.
Just weak ejection with rds. in the magazine.

I installed a non-LCI SLB in it last night and plan on shooting it today to check it out.

If no cure, I will leave the SLB in and install a 30274 ejector.

Tried the 26 today with the Non-LCI SLB. Got stronger ejection but still a couple of BTF on the last rd.
Will install the 30274 today and try again leaving the SLB in place.

I had an FNP-45 that did this. The problem became less severe as the gun was broken in. I was also left eye dominant and a right handed shooter, so that added to the problem. I trained myself to shoot right eye, and my dominance has shifted to my right eye. It helped.
