I shoot a lot better with my NY1+3.5# connector G21SF than my G17 with stock 5.5#.
Is the NY1+3.5# a workable set-up for production?
I know most people that get serious about USPSA like to get the 2-3# triggers - but I'd like my production piece to be carry/defense friendly. I figure with enough practice (give me 10-15 years or so) that a 5-6# trigger will be do-able....
The draw to USPSA for me was to be able to practice doing things at speed in a more realistic setting than sitting behind a lane shooting a paper target.
I realize it's not IDPA and I don't want to switch to IDPA, nor is USPSA a substitute for training (it's still just a game afterall) - but if Sevigny can win with a mostly stock Glock and an unlimited practice ammo budget... I figure that a 2-3# trigger isn't necessary to be competitive.
I'm still learning the game and developing my skills, but I don't want to get so caught up in gaming that a production gun turns into a "race gun".
Are any "A" or "M" class shooters running the NY1+3.5# set-up? I know Mas Ayoob has used the NY1 with success in IDPA.
