"As they say, you can buy the hype, or buy the Glock."

With all due respect, when Glocks first came out, they were the hype, too.

I have 2 Glocks...17 and 27...both 3rd gen and 0 malifunctions in both with each totalling around 2500 rounds. I shot an XD in .45GAP and it was neat. I vote for the glocks..been around longer and basically have all the 'kinks' worked out of them.....dont fall for the KB! or unsupported chamber bullhicky...just shoot factory ammo and advoid lead rounds.

XD all the way. The grip angle on a Glock is all wrong for me (kinda like shooting uphill), the trigger bites my finger when shooting, and I just don't care for how it fits my hand. My XD45 on the other hand, is more ergonomic, the trigger is better than any Glock I ever had, and the new finish is as good as, if not better, than the last couple of Glocks I've had.

I prefer the Glock, but I do a grip reduction to make them point like an XD. If I had to choose one or the other box stock it would be the XD for the ergonomics. The Glock points unnaturally high for a lot of shooters. Likewise, the XD points low for some folks. Pick one and practice.

I like the Glock 19 better than the XD 4 inch model because the 19 is 5 ounces lighter. 20 ounces sounds much better for my bad back.

Glock all the way for me. The XD feels absolutely TERRIBLE in my hand. If you gave me one I would trade it off in a heartbeat.

My Glocks are bulky feeling, but useable.

Im just the opposite, I had been shooting USPSA with a Glock, great gun. I tried an XD and it fit me better, scores went up right away. I wish it had been the other way around as I had a lot in the Glock but the timer doesnt lie. ;)

Both are great but the XD works for me.

All Hype!!!!!!...........................................................:D

You said it this time. Not me. ;)

Seriously though, since we're talking numbers, about how many LEO agencies have bought into the "duty ready" XD?

tick,tick,tick,tick-----still waiting.

Yet to see and XD KB.

That's all I'm sayin.

How many Glock KB's have you seen? What is the ratio of KB's vs. guns in service for both? Beware the "I haven't seen a FIAT on the side of the road therefore they do not break down " fallacy.

You are right on with that point.

Um....if you combine everybody I know who owns a Glock and everyone I've worked with who owns or use Glock and top it off with my Glocks, the number would probably lean towards 3 to 4 hundred. Yet not one has exploded. We must be doing something wrong.

I'm not sure what you are saying? You're not sure why Glock hasn't added more models or done something different?

XD-9

XD-9Target.gif

I bought a NIB XD-9 today. It came with 3 stainless steel 15-round mags and the XD paddle holster. I shot about 90 rounds out of it today and I am very impressed with its accuracy. Yes I know the shots could be better, but the first several shots were off the black and then I slowed down. The target was about 30 feet away. I like my new XD-9.:D :D

I have both. While I really like the XD very much, I will lean slightly to the Glock.

XD is a great value, but it sure is top heavy with all those metal items that are plastic in the Glock.

A few perks about XD:
Grip Safety, Fully Supported Chamber, Rear facing chamber cocked indicator.

A few perks about Glock:
There everywhere, great aftermarket support/parts support, proven reliability in very extreme tests and high round counts that only "experience" can get you.

sorry got pulled away from computer near the end of post
came back and submitted with out rereading doesn't make much sense

I am surprised that Glock has not run away with this post and the voting

they have WAY more models, and have been out much longer thus GLock has Way more guns on the street at this time.

They are both good pistols. The time proven Glock is like the Remington 870, been around a long time and keep on going. The XD is the new kid on the block and in time should prove to be on par with the Glock. I like my XD.

That seems to sum it up in my mind!!!
