"Go To" for .270 accuracy?

Couldn't think of a better title..
Anyway, what is considered the standard bearer for .270 win. for accuracy in a factory load? I know all guns are different and you need to try different loads but what is considered the "Go To" round for factory accuracy?
It seems like everyone leans towards the 168gr. Federal GMM in the .308 world but what is it's analog in .270?

What about the Remington Core-lokt? Those usually shoot pretty well through most rifles.

I guess it really depends on the individual rifle, though.

I ve shot a Howa 1500 with the factory scope using Remington 130 gr SP corelokts. It was 1.3 inch grp at 100 yds.

Hornady custom 130 grain SST. Does as well through two of my rifles as any handload I have ever produced. Same goes with the .243 95 grain SST will print a dime 5 shot group at 100 yards through my Tikka or my Encore pro-hunter.

I have had consistently good accuracy with Federal Premium 130 grain.

I'm with JB, if it won't shoot the factory SST load at least decent it probably won't shoot anything. In my .270, 308 and 30-06 they are consistantly the best factory loads.

I have to go with the Winchester 130gr. Power Point load.

My Browning bolt action would really only shoot the Hornady Custom 140gr boat tails well. I could bet it to shoot an honest inch at 100. All other factory rounds for me were in the 1.5 to 2 inch range.

I have a Weatherby VGX delux in 270 that shoots Federal Power Shoks into an inch or just over at 100 yds consistently and will do the same with Remington Core Lokts.... That friends, is a keeper.

My Vanguard loves the Hornady 130gr & 140gr SST. The Superformance load is actually better than the Custom I used to shoot.

Fed premium, 150gr sierra

My vote is for the Federal "Premium" with the 130gr Sierra bullets. Second would be the same with 150gr Sierra bullets. Also accurate are the Remington and other's with the "ballistic tip" type bullets.

I've loaded both the Sierra and Nosler B.T.'s for friends .270 and they've all been superlative accurate when loading a 130gr bullet over either 54.0gr of IMR4350, 58.0gr of H4831, or 54.0gr of H414.

130 gr Fed. Fusions were slightly under .5" in my Browning X-Bolt. Couldn't top it with my best handloads.

Oddly enough, my older Savage 110GL prefers the 130 gr. Remington Bronze Point loads.

It's the rifle not the ammo. If the rifle is built "right" it will throw the same grain bullet configuration to pretty much the same place. With at least acceptable accuracy. The change of various cartridge manufactures should "fine tune" but not change impact several inches. I've searched for an accurate factory rifle for quite a while and purchased several new ones. All were a great disappointment in actual accuracy though some beautiful. The search ended with the very low cost Thompson Contender Venture in .270 caliber. It will throw any Walmart 130 grain ammo into about an inch, and the Federals into 1/2 inch if you are very good. After throwing away several new Remingtons, Rugers, Savage, and misc. others - the T/C Venture is the real deal. All results were from a bench using a Lead Sled. Most new rifles are a JOKE in accuracy, totally contrary to what the gun magazines write. I believe it's the barrels on today's rifles. you will read on the net statements like "you must break the barrel in" or "accuracy improves after 200-300 rounds". This is total BS!! A new rifle should be acceptably accurate out of the box. Not after $300 of ammo and hours or range time. The CZ's and T/C's will shoot from the FIRST round. Just my experience - but it's the truth not lies as many magazine articles are.

130 grain Winchester/Nosler Ballistic silvertips. With 53 grains of 4350. quarter inch groups with factory remington 700 sps.

My Remington Sendero in 270 Win can hold .5-.38 groups @ 100 yrds with the "blue" box Federal ammo. I have found 130 gr Federal Factory ammo to shoot very consistently.

I recently purchased a Panther LR338L. I sighted my rifle today and it shot fantastic. I shot 9 rounds with cleaning the gun after each round. Then 3 rounds and then cleaned the barrel. On the 17,18,19 shots I got this group. It measures inside .567" and the outside of 1.034. I just cant believe a lightweight, 18" barreled gun could be such a shooter. It was 50 degrees and sunny at 8000’ using 200 grain Federal Soft Point. I had about 3 to 5 mph cross wind from left to right. I used a Vortex 3-9-40 scope.

That was pretty good shooting, but I would expect that in a $1100+ rifle. I take it that you were using factory ammo.
