I just bought 2000 Bullseye #1 from Missouri Bullet from Powder Valley yesterday for ~$140.

I bought them for competition, but if you are looking for Range bullets, I don't see why not cast lead at any time.

edit: I thought you were looking for bullet components to reload, not the ready to fire cartridge.

I found green/white boxed Remington fmjs to the the best of what I have used. While very pricey the most reliable and accurate load in my S&W 457 was Remington 230gr subsonic JHPs. The load I expected to be most dicey had 0% failure in 250 cartridges fired.

i always just get winchester white box at walmart, does really well in my g30 but it gets exspensive. But in my case i'm scared to shoot reloads because for some reason i don't feel safe shooting them. So needless to say my 45 sees the least time at the range because i think there 32 dollars for 100 rounds of the ole whitebox. pmc also shoots pretty well and priced along the same lines as the winchester white box

For some reason Wal-Mart seems to have the best prices for cheap FMJs. I can rarely even match their prices shopping online for bulk packs, and that's before shipping costs. Winchester white box won't let you down. Unfortunately you're still paying $0.30 or more per round for .45 ACP.

EDIT: Haven't tried that PMP stuff, but if it's decent quality that price is outstanding.

The Washington Arms Collector shows have some good deals on ammo. I reload my .45ACPs but have bought BVAC rounds for my wife's 9mm. I have also bought BVAC 10mm. All have worked flawlessly.

Note: I can buy the BVACs in quantity (500) for about $9 per 50 rounds. I can't reload them for anything cheaper than about $7.50 to $8 per box. I will reload the 10mm, but 500 rounds of loaded ammunition is not that much more than 500 starline cases.

PS: You should become a member of WAC, you can't buy guns unless you are a member...not sure about ammo. It only costs $35 per year and you don't have to stand in that big line.

I've had good luck with Georgia Arms remanufactured ammo. My XD45 really loves their 185gr JHPs and my 1911 the 230gr FMJs. It's pretty cheap but buy in bulk to save on shipping. That said the last batch I bought was about 1/2 non-brass cased (not polymerized steel, but some silverish metal color)...that was a little annoying but it functions fine never-the-less.

Correct, Bitter Root Valley Ammo. I buy it at Cheaper than Dirt and it works great.

My bud loves "Laser Cast" lead. Do not know the price but you can check it. If you have brass I will load you some, am near Marshville. Loaded all my brass this winter for personal use. Still have about 700 230 grain RN that need stuffing. Have 1K of 45 brass on the way. Will be casting about 50+ pounds into various calibers shortly. This retirement is hard work-lol.

Thanks everybody! I was curious about this Bitter Root Valley Ammo everyone is talking about, is it a website? And is it the same thing as BVAC? (sorry im a rookie to pistols if you cant tell)

Here's website for BVAC:

I've never used it either. I do see it for sale at Cheaper Than Dirt and wondered about the quality.

I normally buy Federal Champion .45 ACP from Walmart or the 250 bulk packs of UMC and American Eagle from any source. Local Walmart sometimes has the 100-round packs of WWB for a decent price. For range ammo, I price-shop. Most of my shooting is with 9mm due to price.
