I'd just like to say good bye to everyone, I only have 4 days left as a civilian and I am shipping to Parris Island on Monday to fulfill my life long dream of becoming a U.S. Marine.

I got to meet a lot of great people on here, for now it's good bye, but i'll see you all back here on April 7th in a set of dress blues.

Time to become a United States Marine.

Good luck

And Thank You!

I am sure that you will serve with honor and distinction, and make friends and family very proud.

Godspeed.

Fred

Congratulations!

And like stated above "Thank You". Just remember no matter what you read and hear in the "press" We appreciate all that you men and women do for our country to protect our freedom's and liberties.

Good Luck, and stay safe

Good luck to you and stay safe.

I don't understand why this is goodbye. You will still have access to computers in the future and you can visit THR from any corner of the globe. Heck, you even get to keep your name. ;)

Good Luck,

God Bless, thank you and make em proud to serve with you. There are thousands of good Marines that have gone before you. The Marine Corps is our smallest, most select, hardest charging arm of our military. Be proud, be the best, be a Marine. What you gain there will serve you the rest of your life no matter what you choose to do. When you go on liberty, hoist one for me at the Dixie Cup.

Well...The first thing ya gotta do is remember to kill all the sand fleas you can find. Gunny just HATES sand fleas. If ya get a good Drill Sergeant, he might even pay a 10 cent bounty for every one ya get.

Be sure ya specify clothes that fit. You wanna look sharp.

Be sure to remind the good Drill Sergeant about the weekend pass over to Hilton Head if you're the first to fall out three days in a row.

Be sure to mention that you most assuredly do NOT like calves liver, and that you do like ham and lima beans. They'll cook up a mess just for you.

Ask if SSgt Joe Sink retired yet. If he didn't...Go give him a big kiss from Johnny. If he has retired...Look for GySgt Dennis Ray. He may be a Hollywood Marine now, and if so...call him and tell him I said to kiss my ol' skinny. He's far enough away that it'll take him a while to get there. When he gets there, and he takes off his pink Hollywood sunglasses...take note that one eye is blue and one is brown. Tell him that he looks weird. Tell him that I said to say that. Before he can close off your windpipe, mention that "Windy" is back at home and wants him to come visit him at the old home place. He'll let go of your throat and bust out laughin'. GySgt Ray has no neck...so forget about choking him back...and he is wicked ugly. You may pass that along as well.

Godspeed, lad. Thank you for your service.
