Got a little problem

If you can't stop it, then be a man and talk to the people who will be running it. Explain that you will be a good neighbour if they will, and you expect noise regulations to be met and your parking spaces to be open, or whatever your pet peeves are.

And NO Car alarms that beep if a leaf falls on them, ever. (just guessing on that one)

I would contact Rehab LLC and find out what the plans are. I just did a Google search and many "rehab" houses are phisical therapy. It may not be "drugies" and it may well be injured patients, or ever Vets.
I would find out for sure before you panic.

improvements

the guys i rented to built a 3 level deck as well as painted whole place and installed new wall to wall carpet. and they called cops on the crack house up the street something the "good neighbors" were afraid to do

That's fine and good, just as long as they're not recoverying in *MY* neighborhood.

WOW! I just had a 60's flashback to when the first black family moved into our suburban neighborhood.

did have that familiar ring to it.We had a homeless shelter here in town . Lost its lease . Owned a piece of property withiin sight of old location and had funds to build new facility. However the neighborhood had been "gentrified" (read was going white) and thed new neighbors fought to keep shelter from being built within the existing mixed zoning on property they owned free and clear

Rehabs are for perfectly legal things, too -
like alcohol, overeaters, gambling addicts, sex addicts....
it ain't all junkies addicted to illegal substances. Keep in mind that addictions don't discriminate by sex or social class, and there are some pretty prominent members of society/politics/business/arts that fall victim to these addictions and simply need supervision in a "real world" setting to assist in their recovery.

IMO, it's the addicts you don't know exist in your neighborhood that pose a greater danger to people and property values than the household of supervised folks who are actively trying to better themselves and rejoin "normal" society again.

Seems to me that if it is an LLC, it is a corporation. Is your area zoned for commercial business? They may be in violation of zoning laws since an LLC is all about making money. Also check to see if there is any "Single family dwelling" clause in your area. This also will be a violation if it is. Check local parking restrictions. I know in our city, you cannot be parking in the yard unless it is a designated parking area that is finished as a parking area with either gravel, aspahlt or cement or some other ground covering.

The thread is about legal possibilities, not about the desirability or lack of desirability of the proposed use of the house. -Art

Exactly - what are the circumstances surrounding how this place was optained by the "new" owners? If extented vacancy is the reason behind it, then there are a few vacation homes in FL, CA, VA, etc., I'd like to lay claim to....:D
