Where do you find .41 Special reloading data?

I was referred to an article in Shooting mag by Lane Pearce, entitled "Ready for the .41 Special?", April 7, 2011.

Can't say I see the point, but it is interesting and certainly is unique!

The .41 Special has a higher TKO factor than .357 Magnum or .40 S&W.

One other "point" is that I have been gradually experiencing as many guns and cartridges as I can.

Super nice looking, I had some Starline .41 Special brass on order but cancelled it. Enjoy your gun.

I like it. What's the recoil of a 41 special like?

For the load I am using, recoil is substantial but the expected step down from .41 Magnum. The grip and the gun's weight make for a very enjoyable shooting experience, with power level controlled such that one can comfortably blast through at least 50 rounds with ease.

While theoretically more devastating than 357 Magnum (TKO factor) the recoil is not as snappy in my estimation. The sound it produces is also a lower frequency, but certainly not something to count on without hearing protection. It's not like, "holy crap! somebody is shooting magnums".

Very nice - both of those! Well done.

If you like to march to your own beat, these may be for you... :)

.41 Mag Conversion

A previous poster asked about a .41 mag conversion of the GP. Gary Reeder in Arizona does these conversions:

http://www.reedercustomguns.com/revolvers/skorpion.htm

He uses a custom 5 shot cylinder. At one time Dave Clements used to convert the GP100 to .44 Special and claimed it could shoot 250 gr loads at over 1200 fps so they were not loaded to .44 Special low pressure specs.
