Gun counter advice

That's exactly what I don't want to hear. Lot of knowledge there but I may just want a reliable 223 ar.

If I'm in the market for what twist is better for what round I would know that before walking in.

I don't understand why people seek advice from cerks at gun stores when the information is widely avaliable and well vetted on the internet. Ask a clerk and get one bias opinion and anecdotal experiences. Search online and get a plothera of opinion and experience that are challenged by others. You end up with a complete well rounded picture that you can then use to make your final decision.

FYI: BassPro firearm prices are ridiculous. I don't understand why a lot of people are to lazy to shop around. For example, the BassPros in my area have handguns that are almost always priced at or above MSRP; however, there are literally dozens of smaller gun shops, pawn shops, etc within a 30 minute radius that have better prices. Me personally, I almost NEVER and REFUSE to buy new guns at any LGS. I rather buy online, but if I were to buy locally, it wouldn't be from BassPro.

Believing in your product" has nothing to do with anything if that product is the wrong tool for the job.
Without the context of what weight bullet the customer intended to shoot, nobody established that it wasn't the right tool for the job...except the employee who took it upon himself to decide that for the customer. I do understand what your argument is and don't totally disagree. Except for this other part...
Referring the customer to a Ford dealership
Would be a firing offense under just about any circumstances.

I go to stores to buy things, not to receive advice. I prefer to do my research on places like THR and obtain opinions from friends and family, who I know will give me good recommendations.
