Gun show today in Robstown. It was fairly large, but a lot of tables were accessories and jewelry and such, but that made the wife happy. I made the rounds, found a 2" round butt M10 Smith and Wesson at first, wanted it, kinda, as it was 350 bucks. asked to look at it. It was clean in finish, but pretty sloppy, timing wasn't quite right on 2 cylinders and end play was getting up there. I took my feeler gauges just in case and end play was 5 thousandths. I think 7 is Smith and Wesson's recommended limit. Anyway, I decided it wasn't worth 350 and I have plenty of snubby revolvers for carry. I just like M10s, have one, but it's a 4" square butt and I never carry it. I do carry a 3" Taurus 66 .357 occasionally, though.

Anyway, so I moved on, found a Ruger SR22 for 360 at one table, a Taurus 9mm revolver I liked for about 370 at one table, was tempted by that one, but then came upon a table with a crowd around it. The reason why was the pricing, probably 20 bucks over MSRP on most of their stuff and LOTS of volume. They wanted 319 for the SR22 and they had a blued Mk 2 there for 289. I was tempted by the Mk 2, but have one with a scope on it I gave 275 for scope and all at another gun show several years ago. I like the scope, don't wanna take it off for the original sight.

So I picked up the little SR22. Mark 2s are REALLY accurate, but this little thing is maybe a quarter inch longer than my Kel Tec P11 and a tad slimmer, will fit in a pocket, front pocket, not just a cargo pocket. It will make a handy take along outdoor "kit" gun for this reason replacing an zinc HP22 little POS I have that is really accurate, but is not a strong gun. I've yet to fire the SR22, but hope it can shoot 3" or less from the bench at 25, will make me happy. I'm sure it will at LEAST do that, though. that HP22 does and that's why I've kept it so long, not that I'm going to get rid of it since it ain't worth much.

Anyway, now I have 8 Rugers...Ruger Old Army, 6.5" .357 Blackhawk, 4 5/8" .45 Blackhawk, Mark 2, KP90DC, P85, stainless 10/22, and now the SR22 pistol.

Just got back from an indoor range. I got to shoot it at 25 braced over the wall 'cause they put me on the rifle range which is 50 yards. I'd never seen an 50 yard indoor range before, way cool. So, I shot Federal, Qwik Shok, CCI mini mag, and stinger. Federal's best 5 shot 25 yard group was 2", not bad considering the "rest" I had to work with. WORST federal group was 2.75" for five shots. Quik Shok doesn't work in anything I've tried it in very well. It's a fragmenting bullet round. I've had these for YEARS and they're old. I put over 200 rounds through the gun testing and just shooting and only had one failure with the Quik Shok, failed to pick up the round out of the mag on the first shot. Like I say, these are probably 20 years old, been sitting on a shelf in the house all those years, and the one that failed felt weak compared to the rest. Not the gun's fault.

So, moving on, I got 3" out of CCI stinger, shot two groups. Then, I shot CCI mini mag, 2.50" group. This little toot is a shooter! It's going to ride on my belt or in a pocket as an outdoor kit gun.

So then, I started single shot aimed fire at 15 and shot 4 of 5 X rings. This was to simulate head shooting a rabbit at typical ranges. The little toot is deadly. It is reliable and very accurate.

just an fyi, keep an eye on the take down lever. Some people are report them walking out and causing a rub on the slide.

I've been wanting one of these forever. No gun store in the area has them...alll backordered. I'm beginning to think they're an urban myth.

Don't care about the price. Just want one.

I just bought one locally at a large gun store. Everywhere online advertises them cheaper, but nobody has them. I ended up paying more then all the internet stores advertised prices at $349. I don't mind paying 20-30 dollars more, because I was able to actually check it out physically before deciding on the purchase. Haven't shot it yet, but sure feels like a solid little gun. Looks great too.

Hmm, maybe not getting it fully latched? It does take some force to snap mine back down and I have to use a screw driver blade to open it, finger nail ain't strong enough.

That's hard to say. I don't have one, just read of a few people having this 'problem' whether it is a teething issue with a new gun or owner ignorance, it's really hard to judge over the internet. You know sometimes there are legitamate issues and other times people just don't know what they are doing.

This one is on my need list, and will get one when I find it and have cash at the same time. Not too concerned about reported issues, but it's something to keep in mind in case it really is an issue.

Just bought one a few weeks ago from my lgs for $325, and I agree it's a great little gun. Lots of fun at the range. Now I just need a few more magazines!

Looks great, I'm interested in obtaining one of those myself. You should definitely report back here after you take her to the range. The most Rugers I have owned at one time is 4, I'm down to 3 now.
