Off-topic, but I thought it was kind of stupid when M said at the end "she made a deal to spare your life for the money". He was the only one with the password, dumbass.

cbsbyte, the designer of the weapon models for the original CS was lefthanded; In the earliest versions all the players held their weapons in their left hand, putting the ejection port in the right place...

With feedback, they added a "right handed carry" fairly early on, they just took the artwork and reversed it... as a result, all the guns were now mirror images of themselves.

At least Valve is attentive to detail and will correct mistakes. That still does not explain why many other game designers get the ejection ports wrong. it most likly is due to the fact that very few game creators have ever seen a real firearm, nor care about accurately recreating it.

Yes, he was the only one that knew the password and that is why Vesper stayed with him until she found it out. Remember after the torture scene, when he was recuberating in Italy, Vesper and he where kissing and the Swiss banker came up with the brief case and asked for the account info to transfer the money. That is when James stated to Vesper that her name was the password then entered it the computer. But the money was not transfered to a British account but to one setup by Vesper. Then all she had to do was wait to the correct moment to withdraw the money to trade it for her real lover.

I saw the movie tonight and don't remember all the guns in the movie. With all the action its hard to tell. I don't know what the pistol was in the beginning of the movie. I do remember in the Miami scene the police use M16A1s and Glock 17s or 22s(can't tell on my crappy TV). Miami scene was actually filmed in eastern Europe notice the stone buildings in some of the frames. The African soliders used Ak-47 and I believe an officer had a BHP. Bond still had a Walther P99 and of course he used the UMP-9 to take down Mr. White in the end scene. In the end we don't know who Mr. White works for, I guess we will have to wait for the next installment.

Actually I believe the runner in the beginning was using an HK P2000.

Actor Daniel Craig wants to do a gay scene for the next film. He also wants to do a nude scene in the next film. I am just hoping not the same scene! I think we need more nude Bond Girls myself. But whatever.

In case any of you dont believe me here is a link:

Great Movie...

So good my fiancee loved it. Thats really saying something if it isnt a chick flick.

Great action and great gun scenes. Wonderfully paced and shot. A breath of fresh air compared to the last few Bonds which basically made fun of themselves.

One gun mistake that really bothered me is that in the opening chase scene (which was awesome), when Bond gets the guy on top of the crane and the guy wiht the USP shoots, the gun is empty, so he throws it at Bond. Of course the guns slide wasnt locked back and the bad guy only really shot off like 4 or 5 rounds.

I dont know why it really bothered me... I guess its because I felt the guns were handled pretty well and that the scene was just a very amateurish mistake when it comes to guns on film.

But really, if anyone here hasnt seen this movie... go out and either buy it or rent it now. If you dont like the hot chicks, fast cars, cool guns, 100 million dollar poker game and great action, then by God you dont like anything!!!! :neener:

He may want it but I doubt the producers will ever let it happen. For starters they will want to maintain a PG-13 rating so they can attract the big crowds, if they include full frontal nudity then they will probably have to make it R. Second I they would drive away a lot of potential movie goers if they announce that their would be a gay scene. I for one have nothing against gay people, to everyone their own I'm not one to judge, but if I new that James Bond was going gay in the next movie and showing the whole package I would be very dissapointed, why? Because I want to see the next Bond movie:cuss:

Anyway back to guns:D

This movie was a departure from the other recent Bond films. It is grittier and bloodier than previous films. It also shows a flawed man, like the rest of us, and unlike the other Bonds, this one makes mistakes that gets people killed, and his ego gets the best of him, which happens to be his Achilles heel. This bond is more brute strenght than finese. They cearly show this difference in the beginning construction area foot chase scene. He is also horrificley brutalised in a torture scene. This Bond I would consider to be more of a real special forces solider (I believe Vesper mentions he is ex SAS), one who will use what ever is nessceary including brute strenght to overcome the situtation than the past suave Gentleman Bond's. I believe he kills more people in hand to hand combat than by shooting. In this regard he is much more believeable as a special agent that the other Bonds. This adaptation of Casino Royale is much different than any other bond film, and is a welcome relief.

I loved this Bond movie it is my favorite. And I thought Daniel Craig was an amazing James Bond. When I saw the movie with my friends through the whole movie I was telling them what all the different guns were. I had a lot of fun.

The entire poker game was really boring. My straight flush beats your full house, whoopi.

James Bond movies are generally thin on plot, but make up with style, chicks, and action. Now less of all three, but more character development. Different, but nothing to write home about.

Thought MI-3 was more entertaining.

Generally I think real covert operatives don't kill much. Killing someone is easy, everything else is hard. And hand to hand combat is hard, I'm sure firearms is the norm in real life, it's not easy to kill someone with your bare hands.

As a freakish fan of Bond (I own all the films, all of the Fleming books, and have read most of the non-Fleming ones), I am ahppy to say I loved this film.

I'd actually thought Craig would make a great Bond since Layercake, so it was nice to be proven right.

The ego, the unconventional rugged-not-pretty looks, the constant aura of violence... Plus, the education, the charisma, and the gravitas.

Brosnan was a good Bond, he was just in bad movies... Craig is the first Bond that I could actually see in the novel version of The Spy Who Loved Me. Beign the first Bond novel I ever read (at age 8!), and still being my favorite, it is the yardstick by which I measure all Bonds.

Incidentally, he also carries a 1911A1 in that book...

Hey as long as we are on the subject, when Bond is in Madagascar at the embassy and he takes the diplomats gun and he is running from the soldiers with the AK's, is that handgun a 1911 or a browning high-power I can't tell.

Watched it this evening in The Bunker, and was QUITE impressed.

The film had a definite 1960s feel to it, occasionally contrived, but who cares if a '64 Aston Martin is involved... but with a 2007 grit... Overall, a fun sort of flick, and very tasty.

Not a lot of gadgets that aren't essentially over the counter, so I'm guessing that Cleese was a wee bit too expens... er... busy...

Then again, good show, and I'm sorta still wondering how the last 007 got "retired."

I have this pet theory, that the name "James Bond" is an alias or code name; All part of the false identity that goes along with becoming a Double-Oh. Which means that each Bond we've seen has been the real Bond.

We have the Bond who thwarted Dr. No and Goldfinger (Connery), the one who thwarted Scaramanga (Moore), and so on... all the way to the second-most-recent who probably retired after the North Korean incident (Brosnan).

Not too far fetched, I should think, in a world of kiss-kiss,bang-bang. It also explains why he is so casual to introduce himself as "Bond. James Bond."

I like that theory.

That is an excellent theory and one that I've heard before. However having finally given it some thought I like it. It works and allows for Pierce Brosnan telling M in Goldeneye that her predecessor kept scotch in his cabinet etc. But in Casino Royal you get the definite impression that M as played by Judi Dench has been there for awhile and Danile Craig's James bond is a relatively new agent.

Good on you.

Help! I need a replica!

Hello all! I've never posted here before. I just kinda stumbled across forum. You all sound like you know a bit about guns! I am looking for a replica of the sub-machine gun from Casino Royale. The one at the end that he shoots Mr Whites knee out with. Airsoft, whatever, I don't care! Can anyone assist me? Is it the H&K usp-9? Thank you!!

Oh since this was bumped I might add, that in two of the movie posters you see Bond with a suppressed PPK, though that gun wasn't seen in the movie IIRC. Unless of course he was carrying a BUG.
