I thumbed through and issue of this at my local Wal-Mart.
My God.
I didn't know you could shove the word "tactical" into a sentence so many times.
The cover of the magazine looked sort of like this:
NEW TACTICAL 1911! WITH BEAVERTAIL, FRONT SERRATIONS, AND COMMANDER HAMMER! FINALLY, SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
NEW GLOCK 37! GLOCK IS GREAT!
NEW TACTICAL TACTICS THAT WILL KEEP YOU ALIVE!
NEW TACTICAL POLICE TOOLS THAT WILL HELP YOU GET THE BAD GUYS!
NEW TACTICAL ILLUMINATORS FROM SUREFIRE!
Okay, so I embellished a little bit, but the magazine struck me as one of those internet posts from upset 12 year old Counter-Strike players. You know, where everything's in all caps and has exclamation points?
Yeesh. And "tactical". For crying out loud, these guys are like SO 1999. Don't they know that the new gunrag buzzword is "urban"???
They're not "tactical" AR-15 type carbines anymore, they're "URBAN"! GET WITH IT, PEOPLE!
Consequently, I'll be sticking with SWAT Magazine, which seems to be...I don't know...more mature.
