so guys i'm torn as to which one of these to get the one with the 8in barrel or the other one with 5 1/2in barrel please advise??
i was wondering if that shorter barrel was period correct or not thanks!I just prefer longer barrels. Besides they didn't come in 5 1/2 back in the day.
target plinking and just a extra sidearm for snakes when fishing! What’s the purpose for the revolver? If hunting or target accuracy is needed I would go long. For all other purposes I would probably stay short. The long does look nice though…
Get a 1/4” or maybe 3/8” pipe nipple about six inches long to slip over the end of the loading lever to provide additional leverage.I do love my 5½ inch '58...however, it is much more difficult to load because of the short rammer. You lose leverage with the short lever on the 5½" gun.

i would of purchased the steel frame model but living only on $914 a month and having to sell a shotgun to get enough money i was still glad to be able to get this one ordered today! https://www.emf-company.com/store/pc/1858-Remington-Brass-Army-44-8-111p1176.htm
Dude, what are you even thinking? Bad choice. For another 37 bucks you can have a steel frame eight inch. Redo that order immediately.
so, have either of you contacted him and offered to help him buy it?Eyrie G. Dogg is correct get the steel frame for the extra $37!!
You can’t always get what you want… some wise guy said that. I’m told the brass used today is not the same as what we saw in the early days of replica handguns. Go easy on the powder charges and enjoy your new pistol! Welcome to the fraternity.well guys I sold one of my shotguns today and was able to raise enough money to get this one but don't get me wrong if i could of gotten a bit more i would of purchased the steel frame model but living only on $914 a month and having to sell a shotgun to get enough money i was still glad to be able to get this one ordered today! https://www.emf-company.com/store/pc/1858-Remington-Brass-Army-44-8-111p1176.htm
