HALT -- Who Goes There

I think APS would be a great place for threads like:

"need a gun friendly realtor in Baltimore...Suggestions?"

or

"Need a contractor - any gunnies here do xyz work?"

I like people who are like me, and I prefer to deal with people who think a little like me, so a place to "hang out" and waste company time amongst "friends" online is okey dokey by me. :)

I'd rather have a brother - in - arms do the electrical work on my house than some dude who donates his money to MMM and Brady Bunch. It's all about keeping it in the family, ya know?

I check THR first, and then head over to APS for a change of pace. All guns all the time can get old. Plus you can discuss politics (and darned near anything else) over there.

Loop, you didn't like my "Princess Buttercup is Single" thread ???;):D

Thanks for letting me know the site exists.

I've spent about 20 minutes there; not going back again; more important (meaningful) things to do. :)

Would be nice if when you signed up on THR that you would get automatic membership in APS with the same name and password.

I think I signed up there before I found this site. But have since lost my password and sig.

Ok I signed up, but if SHTF it is Greebly's fault. :D

I have been over there a few times. Just never "grabbed" me. More action here, but not as vibrant as before. Still think there should be a "politics" forum here.

Interesting Perspective

After reading some of the commentary here, I took a stroll over to APS this afternoon and spent most of an hour chuckling and laughing.

Things certainly are a bit looser over there, but the mods seem to have a good handle on it.

Sadly, I don't spend enough time over there and, really it's not for any reason beyond "I get busy and forget."

I think I'll start keeping a separate browser window open so I can look in from time to time.

I registered at APS and and participated over there for a short while after Oleg dropped the Roundtable from THR. I seldom visit APS any more.

I know about it, been there, but don't visit too often. Don't really know why. Probably the same reason I spent much of my online time here. I prefer gun related discussions as this is my free time I'm spending. I first came to this site b/c TFL shutdown and I really liked it (now that TFL is back open, I really don't go there much either). Reading a bunch of arguing about non-gun related material really isn't my idea of a good time.

Now its kind of hard to find a place for political discussion.
IMO, anyone seeking political discussion should move to Washington DC (or your state capitol),
leaving the remainder of the continent to those of us who disdain :fire: politics.

:D

Tried to register, said my namewas taken, then said it didn't exist, and wouldn't let me try again. Nah, S'OK, stay here. I belong to too many internet gun boards, anyway.

Closed Down?

They closed down the political forum over at APS. Now its kind of hard to find a place for political discussion.
Yeah, they "closed down" the halls of Congress as well.

However, if you read the fine print, it's only temporary.

It's called a "vacation."

They'll be back day after tomorrow.

My sig line over there is "I only joined A n P because of the Ukranian Army thread."

Then they locked it down.

Bummer.

(Should I post a link to it? Nahhh...)

Know about it; have never gone because I found this place first and I can only handle one woman...er...gun forum at a time.

Politics

I've had to shut down a number of politics threads in recent days, in places like Legal and Activism.

One of them sprang up right after I had closed another.

For some reason we have members who feel that we ought to allow political discussions here, because things are so much more rational here.

Well, things are so much more rational here because we moved politics off the board.

You wanna talk politics?

Go where politics is on-topic.

Go to APS.

If I continue to see such blatant displays of pig-headedness, I might get a little irritable.

I don't care how desperately you believe that politics belongs here.

It doesn't.

Take it outside.

Take it over to APS.

Eh!

Prefer THR.

I think I've got a whole 5 posts there.

Haven't gone to it in something like two weeks.

I'm not sure where the "polite" part comes in.

I don't like the time-on-line readout. Reminds me I've got better things to do.
