:D I'm doing great thanks Tom ! How're you doing ? Nothing wrong with plain and simple, they look great. I waste far too much of my time tinkering with these things :D Guess you recognise the 4th one down....Be well

I'm no Ichiro for sure..

But I kind of like this one. My EDC -

Thanks Brass Balls. :) Bought a really beat up CPA a few years ago and was surprised at how well it felt and functioned. Since then have picked up a couple more. :)

i met Ichiro Nagata at the SHOT Show, he was photographing at Blackwater USA's booth. super nice guy who doesn't speak a word of English! ;)

Actually, these were taken by my son who just got a new digital camera... he was looking around for things to shoot, ahem---make that photograph, so I gave him an assignment for this thread....

My first-ever attempt at a photo for anything more than a simple picture. I've never tried to "prettify" a gun before, so any critiques would be appreciated.

Joe - very good first effort :) Nice piece too.

I will tho critique in small ways .... JMHO of course, no more.

You have very effectively got diffuse lighting but as often happens the pic can finish up a tad soft. Thus a tweak to up contast a bit along with brightness - just to ''liven'' it a bit. Of course pics can look different too on different monitors.

I have (many folks get used to this meddling of mine! :p ) ........ done a tweak .... and lifted it a bit ... I have tho also removed some ammo as well as cropping in a bit - I do like ammo in a gun pic but maybe here IMO a few too many and a bit too random.

So there you are - some feedback for what it's worth! :) Oh and - my tweaked version.

Thanks for the info. You nailed it right on the head: I have an older Mitsubishi monitor, and it's not as bright as it used to be, so I'm a little hesitant to brighten them up too much. I'm using this *old* program called LViewPro 32 that I've had forever and really like. I brought up the Logrithmic Enhancement, but until I get off me lazy butt and get a better monitor, I still tend to hold back...

I like the cropping you added - it's less busy.

As to the diffuse lighting, I have to call that beginner's luck. It was taken with my Sony Mavica 2 megapixel, flash on, against a Subwoofer with a pillowcase thrown over it, and backlit with natural light by opening the blinds on my living room sliding glass doors.

All things considered, I'm happy: At least you could still tell it was a gun! :)

Another good one Joe .... certainly better contrast - ''snappier''. I'd like to see it with tac light switched off (hmmm - actually, is that top left light in fact from outside source? Prob not) ... and also maybe play with the juxtaposition of the two guns.

That's not a crit per se - more a case of always wanting to experiment!! Big bonus with dig' shooting is the opportunity to ''play'' with compositional aspects ... try this, try that etc.

It still ''works'' tho - :)

I've just reshot a pic of my 22/45, after adding a compensator - may throw that in later.

Ask and ye shall receive. I shot it without the light at the same time. And you're right, the light in the right corner is from the UTL. I tried NOT to get too much of the face of the UTL lens: I thought it might be more interesting getting just a little of that, (lit) and the light beam it threw.
