We have two pitbulls, a mother and her daughter. The mother is about five years old and a few years ago we took her up north to my grandparents cabin. There were wooden floors there (something she's not accustomed to) and in the process of running around on them having fun she slammed her head at full speed into the cough resulting in a horrifying cracking sound. My girlfriend and i winced in horror and looked down expecting to see a bleeding dog, or at the very least a whimpering one. What did we find? We found her panting as usual not a trace of anguish on her adorable little face. My point is that these dogs are HARD headed and then some. During Hurricane Katrina some national guardsmen tried to put down two pit's who were attacking a bull and did so by shooting them in the head. Twice. Thats right, the first shot to the head with what i presume would be a 5.56mm bullet didn't do the job so the animal had to be shot again. Its really a shame that some people think theres some particular type of status that you gain by owning a pit, because every one i've ever known has been a very sweet and loving dog. They're loyal, attentive, intelligent and big babies all around. They generally don't seem to like other dogs (ours only seem to get along because they're related) but they love kids and have very good dispositions. Heres a picture of the two of them being vicious, because i like posting pics of them every chance i get
If a dog is latched onto your foot why in the world would you be aiming anywhere near its head with your service pistol? That's either horrible muzzle control, profound confidence in your shooting abilities, or a misrepresentation of the facts.
