I bought one at Gander Mountain @ 2 years ago and planned on using it for a car gun; mechanically it was good overall (a bit loose compared to a NIB GP-100); it shot a bit low for me but was comfortable with full-bore .357 magnum loads; I was a bit impulsive with my shopping at the time and used it as a trade-in on something else...
I soon regretted getting rid of it and it was gone before I returned to the shop I traded it to; another importer had them, but the only shop in the area that dealt with that importer gave me a bunch of crap about misfires and bad timing and that he had to return 2 of them and he refused to order anymore...
I decided that continuing the argument with him was not worth my high blood pressure, so I left and haven't gone back...I guess that his 'superiority complex' was worth more than making a sale and any future business from me
if you can snag one, get it; if you have a problem with it, get Ruger to fix it and overhaul it (even if they charge you for the work)...you cannot beat a DAO Ruger revolver for overall strength and durability in a purely defensive handgun
like I said, I wish that I had kept mine!
