I have accidentally by a 22 HP through the hand. It required surgery.
Getting shot at sucks. Getting shot sucks a lot more. I took an 7.62 out of an AK47 in the left side about 4 inches below my armpit. It a piece of lung out then followed my ribs around and whacked three thoracic vertebrae, but fortunately did not break the spine. Two surgeries and a seven months until full recovery. A buddy of mine told me that I was real lucky. I exclaimed getting shot is not being real lucky. He than told me that he was behind me when I got hit. He saw the Marine on my left god down a depot second before I was hit. That grunt died. I lived because the force of the bullet was very reduced because it went through the Marine on my left before hitting me. I was lucky.
I'm quite disturbed by this thread.
A few of my fellow combat vets also Contacted me and think it is in bad taste.
I'm not dragging up my bad memories for your amusement.
This sub forum isn't my area so I defer to the resident mod, but somebody should be ashamed of himself.
