It looked like it could kill you just sitting there on the table.

Thanks to the cops it will kill no more.

There is no way to say how many lives will be saved now that it has been seized. And there is no way to say how many lives it has already taken.

He knows his guns.

There is no purpose for it other than to shoot people." In other words, says Moore, it's a killing machine.

"Just as fast you can pull the trigger it shoots," said Moore. "It's a semi-automatic submachine gun

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Silly Canadians.

Perhaps we should be more concerned with building a huge fence between the US and Canada, to keep the firearms-related stupidity from infecting our culture any more than it already has.

It's Toronto... even us Canadians consider Toronto to be a strange place...

I guess he knows his guns huh... that is why he carries one himself...

A "semi-automatic sub-machinegun". Since the weapon is not FA on it’s own, does this mean that my fingers will become Title 3 actuators? Eight fingers @ $200 each is going to get expensive. Besides that, where do I put the stamps???

"Just as fast you can pull the trigger it shoots," said Moore. "It's a semi-automatic submachine gun with a 30-round-magazine. It's one of those weapons that sprays out everywhere."

"It's the Mac-11," says Det.-Const. Mike Moore, a 32-year veteran of Toronto Police who is with the guns and gangs task force.

He knows his guns.

I think he does not know his guns.

and of course... no article regarding guns would be complete without:

"Can you tell me about the terrified children?"

THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

to be fair... that was asked by another reporter.

Ya gotta feel for the author. Nothing is more frustrating than setting up a big propaganda photo op, and having the press ignore it. :D

It's a semi-automatic submachine gun
Please donate a used dictionary to an anti-gunner so they can atleast get the terminology right. :banghead:

Really? Was it sitting there loaded? With a round in the chamber? The safety off? Pointed at you? With a criminal's finger wrapped around the trigger? No you say? Oh... then don't worry about it, it's pretty much just a big heavy piece of ornate metal otherwise.

THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

to be fair... that was asked by another reporter.
And I think the fear he referred to was that caused by the police, not the guns.

I know I shouldn't, but I was laughing reading most of that!

Oh yeah and check out the photo; there's a mag in that MAC-11...perhaps someone needs not only some lessons in terminology and uses for guns but also basic safety procedures...

Most cops, up here, know very little about firearms. Their knowledge of them comes from what they see in movies and TV. Very few of them ever shoot their service piece outside of their annual qualification. They see their firearm as a heavy piece of kit they're required to carry. Firearm training is minimal.
That news report is the result of what they should have done long ago. Rounded up the criminal gang bangers, most of whom were imported by the Trudeau government, living in Public Housing.

Wow. That's the most breathless anti-gun report I've seen in ages. You can almost hear the writer's gasps of horror as you read it..

Why on earth are people so utterly terrified of MACs anyway? They're basically just a mediocre handgun stuck inside a square tuna can. That said, methinks I'll have to get one at the next fun show, then hang it over my bed like a crucifix to ward off vampire moonbats. :neener:

Matt87 +1, lol closed bolt and inserted magazine, the author wasn't that far off base! The officer displaying it should have known enough to keep the bolt open and the magazine beside it.

A wall across Canada would be too big. A wall around Toronto...

Did anyone else see the "photo of the day" on the left side of that article. Its funny, though not sure if it's meant as a joke or not.

"Just as fast you can pull the trigger it shoots," said Moore. "It's a semi-automatic submachine gun with a 30-round-magazine. It's one of those weapons that sprays out everywhere."

Can it!? Spray everywhere, you say? not like where you point it or anything...

I was laughing ( to myself ) because its just so ludicrous. Maybe its because i've actually used weapons that can SPRAY EVERYWHERE... oh wait, actually they only spray where you point them, and when you pull the trigger... and i'm in the military...

you know what - no. ive never used a 'spray gun' in my life. Eff these guys.

Every one of the guns was intimidating to look at

Says a lot about the author of the piece.

There are some serious weapons now off the street

Is there another kind? Perhaps silly weapons ?

worked the streets to ensure that semi-automatic weapons and all of the others are out of commission.

All the others ?

They are said to go for as much as $3,000 on the street

They have got to be kidding . What would be the sense of selling drugs when you could just sell these at a 1000% markup .

Well , at least they mentioned children only 3 times

Phaetos Did anyone else see the "photo of the day" on the left side of that article. Its funny, though not sure if it's meant as a joke or not.

that is funny. altho that "Hamas militant" deos seem to have light skin for a Palestinian:scrutiny:

I wish he had made the point that what makes folks safer is not taking the guns off the street, but taking the gangsters off the street.

SaMx I get what you're saying, but I was under the impression that US laws meant semi-autos like that fired from a closed bolt, so they can't be converted to full auto. Just something I picked up from reading about various 'civilian' model SMG's.

"Just as fast you can pull the trigger it shoots," said Moore. "It's a semi-automatic submachine gun with a 30-round-magazine. It's one of those weapons that sprays out everywhere."

If it's spraying out everywhere then he used too much oil!
Unless it's a Browning fifty cal, then it should be spraying out everywhere or it'll jam.

The only gun I ever used that sprayed everywhere got returned to the store so I could paint my car right. The only pistols I know of that spray everywhere require a hose or faucet to reload, though they are semiautomatic. The trigger pull on those things is terrible. One wouldn't want to carry these pistols concealed either-people might think they wet themselves.
