How is hearsay from a fanclub forum more valid than hearsay from general forums? And the first is neither; it's one of several reports I've read of PDs abandoning the Storm/Cougar due to failures.
...
General forums like to pile on and spread negative's like it's nectar for the gods even by so many that have "never owned or shot a Px4..
You'd find that "the hearsay from a fanclub forum" i.e The Beretta Forum, does not let any Beretta gun/product just "slide" when it comes to an on-going defect or just a defect in any Beretta gun be it Px4 or otherwise.
If there is a problem with someone's gun, I can attest to how such a forum reacts when it comes to Beretta's CS or warranty issues when BUSA is slow to comply or otherwise, the Beretta members, young and old, short and tall, pile-on quickly with harsh, to the point, statements of "not letting Beretta off the hook, lightly"
Now, when you read "current, on-going" range reports of Px4's, be them 9mm, 40cal, 45, or new Px4 Compact reviews, you'd find that 99% are positive be it with a Px4 with only 400 rounds out to, those like me, with over 11k "flawless rounds" where "the difference" is, simply, "owners pride" vs those that care less about taking care of one's "issued" weapon" and, in truth, far less range time, than the average citizen - "except" when mandatory training occurs and then the gun, unknown, as to, how it was taken cared of, prior, lubrication wise, via, too much or bone dry or combo of either, and dirty, but such an abused, neglected, weapon will show up with a sudden demand of over 500 to a 1000 ongoing rounds.. and jam up - Of that I'm quite sure
(thus a Glock, cheaper gun, all around, advantage) as a side note of such non-care needed gun for those non-owners with no pride/care attitudes, they do work.
On the other side of the coin, those that "simply" care for, and inspect, their Px4's, which takes all but 5 - 10 mins, that many report of ongoing 500 -1000 rounds range sessions with no problems.. none. The same for many with over 5K rounds, 8K rounds, and some like me with over 11K flawless, rounds.
It will be, and is always gonna be, setting the gun right, prior to use.. (knowing where one's gun stands") in both lubrication/s and time in-between last cleanings. Simply a no brainier "for most"
I've owned mine, now, for over 5yrs and, like many other Beretta Forum members and "owners" - with pride - tell the same positive stories with nothing to hide, as IF there is a bad one out there, "it gets fixed or replaced" and the Beretta Forum puts the_heat on BUSA, directly, day after day, week after week, month after month, "until that Px4, or any other type Beretta pistol, owner "is satisfied"..
We, they, play "no favorites"..
That would be a great start for the OP, "those that actually shoot them daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, under any, and all, conditions but with one great difference than an "issued sidearm" for most LEA's, and that is, as mentioned, each of such owner's "knows how and when his gun was last "set up" and how far it can and will go, without fail..
.. and beyond, nearly 6yrs, with never doubt in my mind about my Px4-G 40 along with "many, many, many, others"
None..
