Help me choose a .22 that is NOT a Ruger 10/22.

I have the following .22 rifles

Walther G22
FrankenRuger 10/22
Henry Golden Boy
Taurus 63
CZ452Lux.

Out of the box, the CZ outshoots them all. CZs are great values for how well they shoot. I'd recommend the CZ.

I don't know about you guys but a fluted, free float, and glassed Remy 700 with a 960 dollar bushnell scope and 100 a piece swiss rings.........850 yards..dead on.

Rem 700s come in .22LR?

Fella's;

Now that CZ has announced the importation of the 452 with LHB, I'm gunna get one. Which makes my Savage MKII LHB an extra. If anybody here from Montana sees this & wants the Savage, I'd be more than happy to arrange a FTF sale & have somebody lose the paper trail. PM me for details if you're interested.

So, I AM gunna put my money where my mouth is. Now, let's see if I can find one for under $350.00.

Ok, thread stealing a bit. Last year I stole christmas for my best friend's by buying their kids (10,12,6) BB guns. This year, it's time to up the ante and the wife is on board. the 7 year old gets an airsoft, he's just not ready yet I think. But the 11 and 13 year old (girls, BTW) shoot the BB guns very well, so it's time to get .22 rifles. CZ's have gone way up since i bought mine. (4 years ago, 249 bucks out the door, not 369 is the best price. no inflation my :cuss: ) Anyway, thinking semi-auto, it can't say Ruger on it. Looked at some spendy very nice ones, but the only two cheap ones i've seen that feel decent are Marlin 60 (129 bucks) and Remington 597 (?) (149 bucks)
Remember, I need two of these, plus ammo, etc, so under 200 bucks is a big plus. Their parents can buy them the CZ when they get totally hooked.
Suggestions?

Between the Marlin 60 and the Remington 597 I'd go with the Marlin.

The trigger (on both guns) leaves a lot to be desired.

Alternatively, CZ makes a "Scout" model. It's Youth sized but there are full sized adults, myself included that own them too. It has many of the features of the other models but comes without a magazine (~$30 more) and the sights are not as nice. Shoot just as good as the full size and last time I checked they were less than $200. Warning, if you shoot this little gun, plan on buying yourself one too...

The Marlin Papoose is a version of the model 60 that breaks down and is dang handy. It's diminutive size makes it perfect to take along and it shoots better than my 10/22...

i wouldnt get the pappose it is more for surival i would stick with the module 60 marlin but i think that you can get them even cheaper than 129 or even savage makes a really good little gun cant tell you the module it is at wal mart it is a completely black synthetic with a little 10-15 round clip here is sales for 89.99 or so a nice little gun for a beginer

My Taurus 63 only ran me $250 and I've had no problems with it. Has that elegant Win 63 look to it too.

+1 more for CZ 452. I have a .22 WMR American which I bought for $371.48 and with the right load (Winchester Jacketed Hollow Point 34 grain for me) I can do .5" or under all day which I did just that today and not even with the intended scope I had in mind. My 452 is sporting a plain ole' Redfield 3-9x40mm for now. It'll later be wearing the Leupold 3-9EFRx33mm Ultralite pretty soon and I am sure it can do better groups, probably not by much though, especially at the 100 yard range.

Get a 452 and don't look back. You won't regret it.
